Trinidad: Father and 5-year-old gunned down in brutal attack

The citizens of Trinidad and Tobago are in utter shock after the brutal murder of a five-year-old and her father. The victims were targeted in a shooting attack by unknowns on the night of Tuesday, 20 August.

The deceased victims of this incident, which occurred in Moruga, Trinidad, have been identified by the police force. The case report mentioned the victim’s father, Enrico Guerra, and the child, his daughter, Anika.

The dead man was a shopkeeper by profession who worked at his own mini-mart and fast food outlet. His shop is located at Poui Trace in St Mary’s, Moruga, where the unlawful act took place.

As per the reports, the father was the actual target of the armed assailants, who also killed the young girl in the fatal process. It is said that the father and his daughter were together at their food outlet in the region when the crime was executed.

It is mentioned that the victims were aggressively approached by the attackers, who were armed with firearms. The open firing was immediately launched at the shop in the direction of the father. The bullets are dedicated to the shop owner, which also hit the small girl.

Subsequently, the information was collected by the police department about the injured victims who faced the fatal attack at their own shop. The wounded victims were left bleeding in the shop, and the suspects instantly left the site before police could arrive.

Reportedly, the male victim lost his life on the spot after the attack and was found dead while the young girl was assisted for the treatment. The victim infant was helped to arrive at the nearest medical facility in Princes Town.

In the hospital, it was reported that the young girl was also not able to survive, after which she was pronounced dead. The murder case of Moruga was registered by the Trinidad police, and the crime scene was sealed for investigation.

People shared words for the deceased and said, “bread, why dan? Why is this world so evil? Why is it we have to bury you and your princess? Why is it that monsters live amongst us, and why did they have to kill you, Dan? RIP King & Princess. You always did everything to make sure your daughter was the happiest little princess in the world.”
