Police arrest 3 Suspects, recover stolen goods in Trinidad's Central Division

Trinidad and Tobago: The police department seized illegal possessions, including a stolen vehicle, a firearm, ammunition, and a quantity of marijuana, from the Central Division of Trinidad.

The action was taken by the police unit in two dedicated operations in the region on Sunday, 11 August. The crime eradication exercises ended with the arrest of three suspects and the major seizure of stolen and unauthorized items.

The details of the rapid actions by the officers in dedicated exercises were disclosed by the Trinidad and Tobago Police Services.

The first response was made by the authorities in the case of robbery and physical assult on a male victim.

The action was taken by the Central Divisional Task Force in response to the urgent broadcast released by the South Western Division authorities.

The incident was reported on the early morning of Sunday, around 04:00 am. The information was that two male suspects fled with a high-value motor vehicle that was stolen after assaulting the victim.

It is said that the bandits forcibly stopped the owner midway, after which the crime was executed. The motor vehicle was a Nissan Navarra car, which cost around 390,000 dollars in the market.

Reportedly, the police department took quick action on the case and started the proceeding.

The investigating team soon tracked the stolen vehicle with the help of GPS tracking. Atriagth after the Tactical Air Support officers spotted the vehicle near Caroni traveling along the northbound lane of the highway.

The rapid response by the Central Divisional Task Force officers led to the arrest of the bandits, who were in the effort to escape after the robbery.

The two bandits occupying the stolen motor car were apprehended and were taken to the Freeport Police Station along with the recovered vehicle. One of the two bandits was found to be a teenager.

The suspects under police custody are identified as an 18-year-old man and a 32-year-old man. The teenager was mentioned in the details as a resident of Point Fortin, Trinidad, who lives along Gerald Street in New Village. The other suspect was found to be a resident of Andrews Drive in Labrea. The case is under investigation in the guidance of PC Maharaj.

The other crime eradication exercise was conducted on the day during the hours of 07:00 pm to 10:00 pm.

The assigned law enforcement team of officers dedicated the operation, a Roving Road Check, in the Sangre Grande district. The operation helped the department to discover an illegal weapon with narcotics.

The police team collected a quantity of marijuana, which weighed nearly a kilo and twenty-seven grams. Along with marijuana, the police also found a firearm with active ammunition that was seized.

The illegal possessions were relieved by a male suspect who was arrested. The suspect was identified as a 28-year-old man from Sycamore Drive in Sangre Grande.
