St. Kitts’ Jahzara Claxton named in West Indies squad for Zimbabwe tour

St. Kitts and Nevis: Jahzara Claxton of St. Kitts and Nevis has been selected in a West Indies squad for their upcoming tour to Zimbabwe. She will represent the team in three One-Day Internationals and three T20 internationals from September 24 to October 7, 2026.

The selection represents another major step forward for Claxton, whose talent, discipline and competitive spirit have continued to distinguish her regionally. Over the past year, she has kept building her reputation as one of the Federation’s most exciting young athletes, demonstrating that she belongs among the Caribbean’s emerging cricket talent.

Dr Denzil Douglas, Foreign Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis extended greetings to Claxton for her selection in the team. He said, “HEARTFELT CONGRATULATIONS to Jahzara Claxton of Sandy Point, St. Kitts, on her selection to the West Indies Women’s squad for the upcoming tour of Zimbabwe.”

He said that this is another outstanding milestone in her promising cricket career and a proud moment for Sandy Point and our entire Federation. May she continue to excel and represent St. Kitts and Nevis and the West Indies with distinction.

According to Windies Cricket, Hayley Mathews will lead the ODI matches for West Indies and will be on leave for T20I matches. Deandra Dottin has also been put on leave, while Qiana Joseph has been dropped from the squad. On the other hand, Eboni Brathwaite has been added into the squad and Chinelle Henry has also been returned to the squad.

As of now, the squad of the cricket team for Zimbabwe series will be: Hayley Matthews (C, only ODI), Aaliyah Alleyne, Shemaine Campbelle, Jahzara Claxton, Eboni Brathwaite, Afy Fletcher, Jannillea Glasgow, Realeanna Grimmond, Shawnisha Hector, Zaida James, Chinelle Henry, Mandy Mangru, Ashmini Munisar, Karishma Ramharack, Stafanie Taylor.
