Trinidad and Tobago: The police officials in Tobago have held a male suspect under accusation of being involved in illegal trafficking activities. The notable point is the man is situated in the Chief Secretary’s Office.
The accused was booked for the offense on the evening of Saturday, 10 August, around 06:13 pm.
The accused man in the case of illegal trafficking is identified as a local resident of Tobago. The suspect is a 30-year-old man who is an employee at the office of the Chief Secretary.
The significant operation in the region was executed by dedicated officers from the Tobago Divisional Task Force. The details of the case were officially shared by the police authorities in the two island nations.
As per the available information through the police about the case of illegal trafficking bust in Tobago, the action was focused in the locality of Lambeau.
It is mentioned that the police officers involved in the operation were on mobile patrol along Joefield Trace on the day. While serving their duties, officers spotted a motor vehicle which raised their suspicion.
At the scene, the police team saw a Mitsubishi Lancer motor car which was heavily tinted. The driver of the vehicle was driving the car in a weird manner which grabbed the attention of the policemen on duty.
The police team responded after which the motor car was intercepted and stopped in the way. The officers approached the driver for inquiry and shared their purpose of action.
The police officers asked the man for cooperation, after which the motor vehicle was searched.
In the search, the policemen revealed that the suspected man was carrying an array of illegal items, including a firearm and narcotics. The car contained a Glock pistol with 15 counts of 9 mm ammo, a quantity of cannabis weighing around 613 grams, and 97 ecstasy pills.
The police officers also found multiple currencies, including 410 Trinidadian dollars, 14 US dollars, and 100 East Caribbean dollars, along with two shortwave radios, one ski mask, one vacuum sealer, one digital scale, 27 Digicel SIM cards, and many transparent packets. It was understood that the suspect was also not the authorized owner of the motor car.
Reportedly, the car was occupied by just one man who was identified as a local of the Lambeau village and an employee at the Chief Secretary’s Office.
The man failed to present his authority to possess all the items and his driver’s permit. The suspect immediately got arrested and was transported to the Scarborough Police Station under custody.
The accused man is currently facing illegal proceedings under the case of illegal trafficking in Tobago.
The police department is conducting an investigation to trace the relationship between the suspect and potential hidden criminals in the nation. The officers are dedicated to uncovering the roots of trafficking and its connections.
