64-year-old physical assault victim dies in San Fernando General Hospital

Trinidad and Tobago: A male senior citizen who became a victim of physical assault by unknown assailants lost his life during treatment in San Fernando. The police department registered the murder case after confirmation of the death by the doctor on Thursday, 29 August.

The deceased victim of the murder by physical assault was identified by the police after the case was registered to the authorities. The old man was beaten brutally by the unknown suspects on Monday, 26 August.

The victim senior citizen, was mentioned in the police reports as a 64-year-old man whose name in his official document was Clivey Babwah. Clivey Babwah was known as Gratty commonly, and he lived in the settlement of Picton, San Fernando, Trinidad.

It is mentioned that the old victim of murder by physical assult in San Fernando, Trinidad, was attacked by the culprits in the locality of his own community. The victim was found injured by one of his relatives along the Picton Street Junction.

As per the reports, the injured old man was clinging to life when he was found by a relative in the early morning of Monday. The time of the crime was recorded around 05:00 am, after which he was assisted and helped to arrive at San Fernando General Hospital for treatment.

In the hospital, the senior citizen was examined and was warded in the ICU (Intensive Care Unit) after admission in serious condition. The old man was kept under medical observation for three days, and no improvement was noted in his health condition.

On Thursday, at nearly 09:00 am, the medical staff of the hospital reported the death of the victim and was officially registered. The doctor stated that the man was suffering from multiple serious injuries on the vital body parts.

Reportedly, the murder victim of San Fernando was suffering from broken ribs and a fractured jaw. The old man was also having a laceration on his head, and due to bleeding, the doctor needed to cut off a piece of the skull.

The case of murder by physical assault in San Fernando is now with the investigative unit of the Trinidad police department. The inquiry in the case is active to find suspects who attacked Clivey Babwah. The reason behind the crime is still unknown, and lawmen are trying to figure out it.

Similar kinds of cases were recorded in the past few days on the island, where senior citizens were attacked. On 24 August a 60-year-old man of Siparia, and on 19 August, 82-year-old man of Princes Town were stabbed. Probe is active in all above cases.
