Caribbean Airlines to discontinue direct Trinidad-Tobago-Barbados flights

Trinidad and Tobago: Caribbean Airlines will discontinue its direct BW212 and BW213 return services between Trinidad, Tobago and Barbados from September 2, 2026. It is a part of its ongoing regional schedule review. The airline is making efforts to connect the three destinations through other scheduled services.

The airline made this announcement on August 25, Tuesday. It said that this adjustment is made as the airline is putting efforts into optimising its regional network. They are trying to align the flight schedule with the current customer demand.

The BW212 and BW213 aircrafts’ schedules will be affected because of the announced changes. However, Caribbean Airlines assured that it will continue to provide connectivity between Trinidad, Tobago and Barbados through its existing scheduled services.

Even after these changes, the passengers will still have other travel options between the three destinations. The airline has not announced an end to all services that link these countries.

The customers who already booked the affected flights will be moved to alternative Caribbean Airlines flights that are operating on the same day. The airline promised that they would contact the affected passengers directly and inform them about their revised travel arrangements.

Passengers are also being asked to make sure that the contact information on their bookings is accurate. This is because the airline is going to reach the passengers with the contact information on the booking ticket.

The airline’s current booking system shows that the services between Port of Spain and Bridgetown continue. This indicates that the wider connection between Trinidad and Barbados is available.

The airline said that for the passengers with existing bookings, there is no need to make separate arrangements immediately. They will provide affected customers with details of the alternative arrangements that will be provided soon.

The changes affect the direct routing of BW212 and BW213 and it takes effect on September 2.
