King Charles and Queen Camilla to visit Caribbean for CHOGM 2026

Caribbean: King Charles II and Queen Camilla are scheduled to visit the Caribbean for the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting, which will be held on November 1, 2026 in Antigua and Barbuda.

Both of them will visit several countries across the Caribbean and interact with the people, government officials and other stakeholders. He will begin his Caribbean tour on October 27, 2026 in the Bahamas which will be named as “autumn tour”. The country is one of the 14 countries other than the United Kingdom where he is head of state.

After the Bahamas, King Charles and Queen will travel to Guyana for a state visit where they will celebrate their 60 years of bilateral relations. Their visit will also mark the strong relations between Britain and the nation on South America’s northern coast. Guyana, a former British colony, became a self-governing dominion in 1966 and a fully independent republic in 1970.

Notably, King Charles is the symbolic head of the Commonwealth who became the king after the death of Queen Elizabeth. The Commonwealth is an association of 56 independent countries and many of these have historic ties to Britain. Several Caribbean nations are also the members of the body and play a keen role in several major works.

The members that include major economic powers are Australia, Canada and India, as well as small island nations like Tuvalu in the South Pacific and the Caribbean. All these nations will be visited by King Charles this year and three of the Caribbean nations are also added into the visit.

The nations are Guyana, Antigua and Barbuda and Bermuda. The Commonwealth heads of government meet every two years to discuss shared challenges, strengthen cooperation and look for ways to promote development.

Now, the works and preparations have started for the visit of King Charles and Queen Camilla as it is considered a historic visit.
