St. Kitts and Nevis ranks first in the CBI Index 2026, followed by Dominica, Grenada, Saint Lucia and Antigua and Barbuda.

Caribbean countries top the CBI Index 2026 rankings with all the St. Kitts and Nevis, Dominica and  Grenada in the top 3 followed by St. Lucia on fourth and Antigua and Barbuda on fifth spot.

Although all the Caribbean countries have retained their same spots as the previous year, the internal competition landscape has changed the scorecard which is also noticeable in the points awarded to each country.

“The most significant change has been the industry’s evolution from a fast - growing commercial market into one subject to far greater scrutiny, higher standards and more formalised due diligence.” said Heyrick Bond Gunning, an expert on the research panel of the CBI Index 2026 on change in points scored and internal landscape and competition of Caribbean  countries to provide the best CBI Programme.

Overall Scores and Rankings:

Standing tall and undefeated on the first spot is St. Kitts and Nevis with a total score of 78 points out of 90, climbing the ladder two points up than the previous year rankings is Dominica with 75 points, third on the ladder is Grenada with 72 points , fourth on the chart is Saint Lucia standing at 71 points and fifth in the line is Antigua and Barbuda with 65 points.

Awarded on points and raked on the basis of percentages out of 90, this index is developed after an extensive research carried out by  James Mckay based on factors: Standard of living, Freedom of Movement, Investment Options and Threshold, Mandatory Travel or Residence, Citizenship Timeline, Ease of Processing, Due Diligence, Family and Certainty of  Product.

Each and every country on the index is tested and checked on these parameters after which they are awarded with points and ranks. Marked out of 10, every Caribbean country scored a perfect 10 in at least one or even more  factors.

Market leader and driver of Caribbean:

Successfully retaining their first and second spot consecutively this year as well, St. Kitts and Nevis and Dominica are the absolute leader and driver of the CBI market and of the Caribbean as well owing to their easy and smooth Due Diligence process, good Standard of Living and flexible Mandatory travel/ Residence restrictions.

New Shift in Caribbean Landscape in the Recent Decade:

Factors influencing this new shift of internal competition within the Caribbean countries in the recent decade are the repricing values and changing price of citizenship. Even though these  countries have cooperated on coordinating harmonisation of minimum investment thresholds , the competition is based on price while common standards of due diligence and information sharing do the play.

When questioned on what distinguishes most successful citizenship by investment programmes , panelist Eric Major spoke,“Clients are increasingly building contingency plans rather than purchasing mobility to simply travel more easily. Investment Migration has evolved from a luxury product into a resilience strategy, providing a way of ensuring that whatever the future may hold, they have options.”

Looking forward geopolitical, regulatory or market developments will have even greater influence on investment migration over the next decade while the Caribbean countries play their best game across the domains: Standard of living, Freedom of Movement, Investment Options and Threshold, Mandatory Travel or Residence, Citizenship Timeline, Ease of Processing, Due Diligence, Family and Certainty of Product to ensure their market dominance isn’t affected and they thrive to be the best option for HNI’s Dual Citizenships.

Role of Eastern Caribbean Citizenship by Investment Regulatory Authority (ECCIRA)

The changes in the landscape of the structures of individual countries of the Caribbean is also influencing the way these countries proceed and regulate their Citizenship by Investment (CBI) programmes. Regional cooperation is moving beyond the harmonisation of minimum investment thresholds and due diligence standards towards a more institutionalised regulatory framework. The development of the Eastern Caribbean Citizenship by Investment Regulatory Authority (ECCIRA), together with plans for greater physical presence by CBI citizens, points towards programmes designed around stronger and more demonstrable connections between applicants and the citizenship-issuing states themselves.

Future Landscape of Caribbean Countries and their CBI Programme:

The most successful programmes will be those that combine market appeal with transparency, robust due diligence and tangible national value, spoke Heyrick Bond Gunning on how the future landscape of Caribbean countries and their CBI Programmes would expect and look when asked about - What will distinguish the most successful citizenship by investment programmes in the years ahead
