Six ties on Day 4 of CFU Under 14 Boys’ Challenge Series

The multi-national football tournament, CFU Under 14 Boys’ Challenge Series 2024, entered in its fourth day on Monday, 19 August.
As scheduled, ten matches were played by the young teams coming from different island countries in the region, among which six tied.
The tournament is being hosted in Trinidad and Tobago and introduced by the Caribbean Football Union. In total, 23 teams of U-14 boys from Dutch, English, French, and Spanish Caribbean nations participated in the series.
The fourth day of CFU Under 14 Boys’ Challenge Series 2024 started with the first Tier 2 match between Bermuda and St Lucia from Group C. The match took place at the ATO Boldon Stadium, sharp at 11:00 am. The game ended with winning points for the Bermuda team.
Only one goal was witnessed in the Bermuda versus St Lucia match, which concluded with a score of 1-0. The winning goal was scored by the player of Bermuda in the second half of the match. The first half ended without any number above zero on the scoreboard.
At 02:00 pm on the day, two matches of Tier 2 were scheduled: US Virgin Islands versus British Virgin Islands and St Vincent and The Grenadines versus Guyana. In the clash between the Virgin Islands from Group B, the British side took the winning points.
The match was hosted at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, which ended with a 3-1 score on the board. The team of British Virgin Islands collected two goals in the second half of the match while one goal came in the first half.
The losing side team of the US Virgin Islands scored only one goal in front of the winning side that came in the second half of the football game.
On the other side, at the Larry Gomes Stadium, the U-14 team of St Vincent and The Grenadines came to face the Guyana team from Group A, which came as the first tie of the day.
In the first half of the match, the St Vincent and The Grenadines team scored one goal and took the lead. Meanwhile, in the final half of the match, the boys of Guyana also scored one goal and balanced the score. The match ended by sharing the points.
At 04:00 pm on the day, two more matches of Tier 2 were scheduled side by side: Antigua and Barbuda versus Cayman Islands and Dominica versus Anguilla.
The match between Antigua and Barbuda and the Cayman Islands from Group A was held at Larry Gomes Stadium.
Both teams scored three goals each in the match, and the result came as a tie, and the points were shared. The first part of the game was at 2-1, where the Antiguan team was leading, but in the second half, Cayman’s boys equaled the scores and avoided a defeat.
Dominica versus Anguilla from Group B at Hasely Crawford Stadium was also a tie. In the game, no goal was scored by any side, which led to the sharing of match points. The last match for Tier 2 on the fourth day of CFU Under 14 Boys’s Challenge Series 2024 was at 06:00 pm.
The football game was played at the Hasely Crawford Stadium between Grenada and Sint Maarten from Group C. This match was another tie of the day where both teams scored one goal each, including both halves. The game of football witnessed the final whistle with a score of 1-1 on the board.
The team of Tier 1 in the CFU Under 14 Boys’s Challenge Series 2024 played their four matches of the day on the same venues as the previous day. The first match for Tier on the fourth day of the series was between St Martin and French Guiana from Group B at 02:00 pm.
The match at ATO Boldon Stadium was easily taken in favor by the U-14 boys of Guiana. The match ended with a score of 5-0, where St Martin was not able to put the ball in the net for even a single time. The winning team scored two goals in the first half and three in the second half of the game.
At 04:00 pm, the teams of Puerto Rico and Curacao from group B hit the ground at ATO Boldon Stadium. This match of football was the second game of the day where none of the team was able to score a goal. The match points were shared after the final score of 0-0.
The next match was held at the Dwight Yorke Stadium at 04:30 pm for Group A teams of Tier 1. St Kitts and Nevis versus Aruba match ended with a final score of 2-2. The match points were shared equally in the sixth tie of the day.
The last match of the fourth day of CFU Under 14 Boys’s Challenge Series 2024 was also scheduled at the Dwight Yorke Stadium. The Trinidad and Tobago versus Jamaica football game was started at 06:30 pm. The winning points were collected by the Jamaica team with a final score of 2-0.
