Johny Grave emotionally ends his journey as Cricket West Indies CEO

Johny Grave, the CEO of Cricket West Indies (CWI) announces an end to his tenure considering it as the right time for the decision. Grave who has been the CEO since February 2017, will end his tenure in October.

He has spent six years with CWI, whereas he previously worked as a commercial director at the professional cricket association (PCA) in England. He served for nine years in PCA. Grave remembered his time with CWI and stated it be an absolute privilege.

“I have been the CEO since February 2017and this was an incredible journey. Having hosted a successful T20 World Cup just recently, we delivered significant surpluses for CWI in the third consecutive year, I do feel it is the right time for me and my family to seek a new challenge,” said the former CEO.

Not only this, but he went emotional while he discussed his achievements. He stated the tremendous support he received as the most crucial one in making him what he is today. Grave noted that the staff and the players are more like his family and thanked them for their trust in him and his efforts.

“We have loved living in Antigua, and leaving this country with so many special memories will be difficult as we watch our young children grow up here.” He added.

Johny Grave further emphasized that this was the right time for this decision, and he wished CWI for their success in the future.

The President of CWI, Kishore Shallow, also extended a deep gratitude for Grave’s passion over the years for the West Indies cricket. He emphasized that Grave showcased great enthusiasm during his tenure, leading successful wins for the nation.

Shallow on behalf of everyone from CWI extended a heartfelt thanks to Grave while adding, “On behalf of board and all members of CWI, I express heartfelt thanks to Johny Grave for his unwavering commitment and leadership over the past years”.

Also, Grave has led the CWI in three world cups so far, including the Women’s World T20 in 2018, the Men’s Under 19 Cricket World Cup, and the Men’s T20 World Cup. Grave throughout the events showcased a deep-rooted enthusiasm and dedication towards the sport.

This is to be noted that, the CWI will start the recruitment process for the new CEO soon. The organisation in respect to which stated that nothing would stay hidden from the locals and the recruitment details will also be shared soon in a publish or press release.
