Grenada: The Government of Grenada released an official statement in appreciation of the Olympic participant, Kirani Zeno James. The open letter by the government extended heartfelt gratitude towards the athlete for his overall performance and his venture in the ongoing Olympic Games 2024.
The officials congratulated James for his achievements and his overall successes while representing his nation over the last decade.
The official letter was released directly by the Office of the Prime Minister for Grenada on Wednesday, 07 August.
The government mentioned about the contribution of Kirani Zeno James to national sports and his notable achievements in his field. The thirty-one-year-old athlete showed his talent in the field of sprinting, in which he marked his notable success.
The government statement highlighted the Olympic journey of the sprinter which was initiated at the London Olympics in 2012.
This was the global event where Kirani James scored his first Olympic medal when he was nineteen-year-old. Just a year before, the athlete was a champion in the World four-hundred-meter track race.
The successful performances in the events of Rio 2016 Tokyo in the 2021 Olympic Games of Kirani James were also highlighted by the government in the appreciation letter.
The athlete continued getting results for the nation in the Olympic games, where he scored a silver and bronze medal, respectively, while representing the nation of Grenada.
The people of Grenada appreciate the performance of the athlete, Kirani James, and the Prime Minister of the nation is also recognizing his constant efforts.
Dickon Mitchell, the serving Prime Minister of Grenada, also added his words, especially while expressing his gratitude. PM Mitchell said, “We are extremely proud of Kirani James for representing Grenada by showcasing his exceptional talent on the track.”
Dickon Mitchell added in his words, “His discipline, commitment, perseverance, and great sportsmanship have propelled him to succeed over the years. His achievements both at home and on the world stage have inspired Grenadians everywhere.”
The government official thanked the athlete for his constant efforts to represent the nation and for his attitude of never giving up.
In the official letter, it was also recognized how year by year, he faced challenges not just related to fitness and health but also personal ones. Still, out of all the issues, he kept hustling and overcame everything to give his best on the track.
The government highlighted that the resilience and successes of Kirani James are also an inspiration for the athletes around the world who are dreaming of representing their nation.
In the Olympic Games 2024, six competitors took part in the events to represent Grenada, including Kirani Zeno. For the event taking place in Paris, organized from 26 July to 11 August, Four participants are named for games of athletics, including three men and one woman, where two will represent the nation in swimming, including one man and a woman.
Lindon Victor for Grenada is able to score a bronze medal this time in the event of the Men’s Decathlon, where James ended his venture without any medal this time. While mentioning the achievements and legacy of Kirani Zeno James for more than a decade, the government marked him as the most decorated 400-metre athlete for Grenada.
