Western Division Police held 3 with stolen possession in manhunt

Trinidad and Tobago: The dedicated manhunt operation in the region of Western Division by the police department led to the recovery of stolen items and an illegal firearm along with the arrest of three suspects. The operation was launched in the division by the police authority in response to a case of robbery that took place in the locality of Carenage on Monday, 05 August. The details of the dedicated exercise were disclosed by the law enforcement authority of Trinidad and Tobago.
The three suspects arrested by the police officers during the manhunt operation in the Western Division of Trinidad are mentioned as teenagers. The suspects were caught with possessions of stolen items related to the robbery, including firearms and motor vehicles. The operation was launched initially by the officers from the Carenage Charge Room under the leadership of Sergeant Carmona.
The roadblock exercise was executed by the dedicated team between the hours of 05:30 pm and 07:00 pm, which was focused on the locality along Constabulary Street, Carenage. The action was immediately taken in response to the complaint of robbery in the region. It is said that the suspects looted the victims in the area during the robbery in which they took valuable items, including a Mitsubishi L300 panel van of white colour and a Nissan B14 motor car of silver colour.
It is said that the stolen vehicles were spotted by the officers on duty, after which attempts were made to stop the vehicles possessed by the suspect, which failed. The suspect somehow managed to escape from the blockage by police officers, after which the information was passed to the Western Division Operation Centre. The Western Division Operation Centre broadcast the alert to all patrols in the region to coordinate the interception of the suspected vehicles.
As per the shared information on the manhunt operation in the Western Division, the suspected vehicles were observed on the same day after sometime in the locality of Glencoe. The vehicles with the details mentioned in the report were spotted by officers present in the vicinity of Goodwood Park. The responding officers were PC Weekes and PC Jobity, who were on a mobile patrol in the locality. The officers immediately informed the discovery the department asked for assistance while giving a chase.
The officers from the Western Division Task Force and the Western Division Criminal Investigations Department responded to the information. The manhunt operation in the Western Division led to the interception of a stolen van at the compound of Diego Martin Borough Corporation. The vehicle was seized by the officers, and the three suspects who were found in the van at the time were arrested and taken into custody to the Carenage Police Station. All three suspects were identified as 18-year-old residents of Laventille.
Reportedly, the responding officers also collected valuables belonging to the victim, which were stolen in the robbery, along with a firearm and ammunition, which were possessed without any license. The illegal gun and ammo were also taken under control and transported to the police station. Shortly after the other stolen vehicle was also found abandoned and seized by the officers in the vicinity of Dean’s Bay. The police officers are moving further with the proceeding in the case.
