St Kitts and Nevis: The 2024 National Bank Group of Companies (NBGC) Premier League came to an end on Friday, leaving S L Horsford St Paul’s United Football Club the winner of the event.

The final match took place at the Warner Park Stadium and the two teams that fought for the title were S L Horsford St Paul’s United Football Club and St Peter’s Football Club.

Both the teams on Friday fought for the title, while S L Horsford St Paul’s emerged out as the winner by scoring 2-0 in the second game of the finals. This win marks the team’s 7th title highlighting them as the football’s powerhouse in the federation.

St Kitts and Nevis Football Association in regards to the event stated that, “We would like to commend all participants for their excellence throughout the season. Their hard work and commitment have made this year’s leagues a tremendous success, and we look forward to even greater achievements in the future.”

The 2024 season has been very exciting to watch as it sets new standards for the sport in the country. The teams this year also delivered a great performance since the beginning of the event engaging the audience

The Minister of Sports, Samal Duggins while congratulating the teams noted that, “This has truly been a ‘countryside’ football season, with our teams showing incredible talent, determination, and heart on the field.”

“May this success inspire young athletes across the nation to dream big and strive for excellence in all they do.” He added.

Apart from him, minister of foreign affairs, Denzil Douglas, also congratulated the winning team on his official Facebook page while noting that, “The trophy is yours, you’ve worked hard and you stuck together, you did again for yourselves, the Community, Constituency and Country”

Netizens are constantly congratulating the team over the social media.

One of the users named Natasha Gordan noted that, “Congrats to the team and Thanks to Samal Duggins. I told you the cup coming home to me.”

Kasim Liburd another user said, “Congratulations too SLH St, Pauls football club on winning the championship, well deserved,as for the FA the celebration was handled very poorly and the prizes were very much questionable in some areas.”

“Congratulations am feeling good good good” Hildred Douglas another user noted.

Notably, the S L Horsfords and St Paul’s United Football Council shares a historic partnership of 28 years. Their collaboration is noted to be one of the most successful and most recoganised among a corporate and sports club in the country.

Wallis Wikin, the marketing manager for S L Horsfords group noted, “We are immensely proud of the team’s success and look forward for more years of collaboration and success.”

He further stated that the victory by the team as the joint effort of  the collaborations and the player’s dedication, hard work and unbreakable spirit.
