Grenada Olympic Champions receive warm welcome, motorcade rally to honour victory
Olympics Champions of Grenada- Kirani James, Lindon Victor and Anderson Peters received a warm welcome at Maurice Bishop International Airport

Grenada: Olympics Champions of Grenada- Kirani James, Lindon Victor and Anderson Peters received a warm welcome at Maurice Bishop International Airport on Saturday.
They have returned from Paris and participated in the “official welcome and meet and greet” hosted by the government.
In order to honour Olympic stars, the government of Grenada hosted a warm welcome ceremony on Saturday by congratulating them for their incredible achievements. The citizens were invited to be part of the excitement and joy as they welcomed them back home.
The government will also host the island wide motorcade and celebration rally to celebrate the victory of these champions on Sunday. The motorcade will depart Morne Rouge at 10: 00 and the celebration event will be held at 4 pm at La Sagesse Playing Field.
Paris 2024 Olympics Games were concluded on August 11, 2024 and the Grenada delegation managed to win two bronze medals. The first medal had come from Lindon Victor in Decathlon who win bronze medal and opened the medal tally of the country.
The second medal was won by Anderson Peters who secured the bronze medal in the javelin throw on August 8, 2024. He threw a javelin of 88.63 metres and won the third position as the first and second position was secured by Pakistan and India respectively.
Kirani James participated in the 400m event of the Paris Olympics 2024 and advanced to the finals of the event. However, he finished his inning in the sixth position and lost in the finals by getting out of the medal race.
Grenada has been lauded for its performance in the Olympics 2024 as the small island state which has recently been devastated by Hurricane Beryl managed to position its name on the global stage.
The citizens are invited to extend their greetings and celebrate their victory in the event on Sunday. Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell also extended welcome to the champions and said,” Welcome home to our Olympic Champions – Kirani James, Lindon Victor and Anderson Peters.”
