Trinidad and Tobago: A murder of a man was reported by shooting in the locality near his workplace along Henry Street in the Upper Laventille area of the suburb in Port of Spain on Saturday, 13 April. The relatives of the dead man blamed his old friends as the culprit for the killing as he decided to lock them off.
The act of murder by the fatal shooting attack on the deceased man in Upper Laventille took place on the day when some suspects encountered the victim in aggression. The action was captured in the camera installed in the locality for surveillance during which the shooting incident was observed by the law enforcement department.
A female relative of the dead man gave her statement in the case and mentioned the potential reason for the murder. She said that the issue started when the victim decided to leave the company of his bad friends and lead himself to a good life.
The deceased man is documented with the name of Kerry Baird as his identity. As per the statement, the victim, Kerry Baird, recently joined a job as a security guard after ending his contact with his old friends with whom he used to live.
It is said that the victim made changes in himself following a promise to the female relative to live the rest of his life for her daughter. Kerry Baird was the father of a six-year-old girl with his female partner, who gave all these statements to the police department.
The police department gave charge of the murder case in Laventille to a team of investigating officers after receiving information of the fatal attack. The investigating officers went to the site of the murder and confirmed the reports while taking the area under seizure.
The investigation was started and inquires were conducted into the crime case of the Laventille murder. The police officers collected the footage from the surveillance cameras in the locality which helped them to lead the case in a direction.
As per the sources, the police officers found in the footage that there was more than one suspect was involved in the crime. The assailants were not covering their faces during the attack on the victim which is seen as a major lead for the investigating team.
The female relative of the victim mentioned that the incident of murder left the family in sorrow. The family is planning to leave the place and migrate after the lady leaves the job to start a new and safe life. However, the family is demanding for justice.
