St Kitts: Foreign Minister Dr Denzil Douglas meets Indian Minister Jitin Prasada
Dr Denzil Douglas, Foreign Minister, St. Kitts and Nevis held a significant meeting with Shri Jitin Prasada, Indian Minister of State.

The Foreign Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Denzil Douglas held a significant meeting with Shri Jitin Prasada, Indian Minister of State for Commerce and Industry on Monday morning (IST).
According to the information, the Minister discussed several matters related to trade, business and commerce which were aimed at bolstering diplomatic ties and creating new avenues of collaboration for both the countries.
The meeting also saw the leaders exchanging special gifts to honour each other with Shri Jitin Prasada presenting a special gift, including a silver-plated frame. Dr Douglas also brought gift pack from St Kitts and Nevis which he presented to the Minister of State Jatin Prasada
The meeting took place during Dr. Douglas first ever foreign ministerial visit from the Federation to India. He arrived on Sunday at the Indira Gandhi International Airport and left in a special convoy of the External Affairs Ministry.

Foreign Minister Dr Douglas also got the chance to savour the famous Indian cuisine including tea, samosa, kalakand, cheese fritters and even some brownies.
The meeting showcased the deep relations which both the countries hold and also discussed the various fields in which the bilateral ties can be enhanced.
Throughout the six-day visit, Minister Denzil Douglas is expected to participate in high level meetings, cultural exchanges as well as visits to key institutions in India.
Reportedly, he will also be meeting his Indian counterpart Dr. S Jaishankar on Tuesday during which both the leaders will discuss bilateral relationship between St Kitts and Nevis and India.
As the Minister arrived yesterday, he was received by the Additional Secretary Latin America and Caribbean in the Ministry of External Affairs of India, G.V. Srinivas as well as Special Representative of St Kitts and Nevis to the UK High Commission, Gurdip Dev Bath.
Notably, the Official Spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs, Randhir Jaiswal also gave a warm welcome to the Minister. Through an official post on X, he said, “Warm welcome to FM Denzil Douglas of St. Kitts and Nevis as he arrives in New Delhi.”
He further expressed his optimism about the visit and said that it will open new chapters of cooperation between St Kitts and Nevis and will also further strengthen the bilateral ties.
Dr Douglas also took to Facebook to share glimpses as he arrived at the airport and noted, “Earlier today I landed at the Indira Gandhi International AirPort and was welcomed by GV Srinivas, Secretary Latin America and Caribbean, Ministry of External Affairs of India. During my visit will have important discussions, that will be beneficial to both countries.”
This official visit by the St Kitts and Nevis’ foreign minister is being anticipated to bore fruitful results for both the countries, boosting international ties.
