Trinidad and Tobago: The winning venture of the U-15 Girls Football Team for Trinidad and Tobago came to an end with a defeat in the Concacaf Girls Championship 2024.
The team made their way successfully to the semi-final stage, where they faced a girls’s team from the Dominican Republic on Friday, 09 August.
The match was organized at the Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port of Spain, Trinidad, which finished with a score of 1-0 in favor of the opponents.
The U-15 Girls Football match between ‘The Dominican Republic’ and ‘Trinidad and Tobago‘ was one of the very tough encounters recorded in the Concacaf Girls Championship. Both teams gave a batteling challenge to each other on the field, where no side was able to score a goal for most of the match.
The sport on the day was a fierce contest, where both teams showed great skill in managing the ball and saving the goalpost. The first half of the game was marked over with scores of 0-0 for both sides. The match till the last minutes was with an empty bucket of goals till the only goal of the match was scored by Kaylee Lainez.
The opportunity for a free kick during the ending phase of the match was grabbed by the team of the Dominican Republic.
The player, Kaylee Lainez, showed the ball a way to the net which added a number to the scoreboard for the team. The goal in the last minutes was to decide the fate of the match, which went in favor of the Dominican Republic.
The girl’s team of Trinidad and Tobago had no time to win or even equal the score as the match ended just after the only goal of the day.
The result ended the journey of the Trinidadian U-15 Girls Football Team while the team of the Dominican Republic booked their spot to face the final challenge for the title.
The authority of the Trinidad and Tobago Football Association shared the details of the championship and the journey of the team.
The association backed the efforts of the young girl’s team and highlighted their efforts and skills that can bring many such expected results for the nation in the future.
The girl’s football team showed exceptionally good gameplay and marked their skills in the Concacaf Girls Championship 2024.
The association also talked about the consistent performance of the girls, who held the team to reach the semi-finals. The U-15 team made their way to the top spots by beating teams like Curacao and Grenada and a draw with Antigua and Barbuda.
In the group matches of the championship, the U-15 Girls Football Team for Trinidad and Tobago defeated Curacao by 1-0 and ended the match on the victor’s side.
However, their match was drawn with the team of Antigua and Barbuda by 0-0. The team booked their spot in the semi-final by defeating Grenada by a huge margin of 5-0.
It is understood that every opponent team struggled to score goals in front of the skillful young Trinidadian girls.
The football association mentioned, “The girls represented Trinidad and Tobago with honor and it is just the beginning of their journey. Let us stand behind them and show our support to them as they move forward in their development. Our U-15 Girls team has a bright future ahead.”
