Trinidad and Tobago: The police officials of Trinidad and Tobago seized illegal possessions of quantities of marijuana, an unauthorized firearm, and ammunition during a special exercise on Thursday and Friday.

One suspect was also arrested for being involved in prohibited activity. The action was taken under separate joint operations dedicated to the different localities of the island.

The information seizure around Trinidad was shared by the law enforcement authority of the Twin Island Federation.

In the two days, the officers from the different branches of the police authority collected information on criminal acts and took charge as per the intelligence. The operations were executed primarily in the localities of Sangre Grande, Saint Augustine, and Arima.

The dedicated raids and searches led to the significant discovery and seizure of prohibited substances and contraband.

As per the information collected, on Thursday, two operations were executed in two different regions on focus. One of the exercises was directed in the region of the North Central Division around the Area West.

The assigned police team for the task made their way to a residence in the settlement during a house search and roving exercise.

The area was targeted as per the intelligence, and the exercise led the police officers to find illegal possession of marijuana. The quantity of marijuana was found in the possession of a male suspect.

The discovered marijuana weighed around 498 grams, which was seized, and the culprit man was also taken into custody. The suspected individual in custody is identified as a 30-year-old man, who is a local resident of Saint Augustine, Trinidad.

On the same day, another successful crime eradication operation was conducted by another team of police officers. The information led the assigned investigation team to the locality along La Retreat Road in Arima.

The mission was executed by the officers of Northern Division North Police, who seized a quantity of marijuana that weighed around 184.19 grams.

Reportedly, the major operation was launched by the Trinidad police on Friday, which was dedicated to the locality of the Sangre Grande district.

The operation was conducted by the officers of the Sangre Grande Police, K9 Unit, and the Eastern Division Task Force. The mission was stretched between the hours of 01:00 am to 05:00 am.

The intelligence-led operation took a dedicated team to an abandoned lot at Jacob Coat North Eastern Settlement. In the search, the officers collected a stock of marijuana, which weighed around 3.2 kilograms.

Along with marijuana, officers also found an illegal assault rifle with a magazine fitted with 25 counts of 5.56 ammunition.

Subsequently, all the illegal stuff, including marijuana and a firearm found on the scene of Trinidad, was seized. The illegal items were taken to the police station, and the investigation was continued in the case. No arrest is mentioned in relation to the unauthorized possession.
