Bahamas: Police officials have disclosed that the crashed plane found around five miles away from the Marsh Harbour Airport in the Bahamas is the same one that was reported missing on Sunday.

According to the information, the deceased pilot, who was the only occupant of the small aircraft at the time of its final flight, is believed to be the 59-year-old Christopher Moore. The deceased is reported to be a resident of Louisville.

In a Facebook post, a woman named Stacye Love believed to be Moore’s wife confirmed her husband’s demise and expressed gratitude that the wreckage was eventually discovered by the rescuing team.

It is being reported that the pilot was found dead in his small plane on Thursday in Marsh Harbour, Bahamas. His wife said that she had hired private rescuers after the US Coast Guard as well as the Bahamian authorities stopped searching.

She further outlined that sadly she can confirm that he died on impact and the family is deeply grateful for having found him and that he did not suffer much. The victim was found 2.5 miles short of the runway, upright in the Bahamas’ Marsh.

The 59 year old male who lives near Glenview on River Road is said to have taken off on Sunday morning from Sebastian Municipal Airport located on the east coast of Florida, for the three hour flight to Marsh Harbour.

Moore was flying his small Bristell plane when it was reported missing around Sunday afternoon. The victim was a pilot for nine years and is a retired engineer.

It is being believed that the crash took place because of the extreme weather caused by the Tropical Storm Debby. Love said that Christopher vanished as he was about to reach the airport and added that for some reasons his signal faded and no one was able to located him from radar.

Meanwhile, the US Coast Guard and officials from the Bahamas held a two day search before calling off search efforts after finding zero sign of the man or his plane.

Following the incident, the close friends of the pilot took to Facebook to express their condolences with several saying that he always had a smile on his face.

“So sad to see this. Christopher Moore, always a smile on his face and so full of life. Our hearts go out to Chris’s many friends and family. RIP my friend,” wrote a user named Jerry Zegart.

Another user named Cindy Britton shared his photo with the deceased and recalled,My favorite photo of Christopher Mooretook me out during fishing tournamentso kindhe will be missed by so many.”
