The Caribbean Tourism Organization is hosting the State of the Tourism Industry Conference for 2024 (SOTIC) on the Cayman Islands.

The five-day grand event is scheduled to be organised on the dates of 02 September to 06 September 2024.

The bookings for the spot in the major gathering are open for interested delegates. The conference will also be joined by experts from several fields along with the officials of member states.

The theme for the SOTIC  event this year is “Caribbean Tourism: Fueling our Lifeblood,” which will be held at the Westin Grand Cayman Seven Mile Beach Resort & Spa in Grand Cayman. The intention of the significant annual event in the Caribbean is to focus on the betterment of the tourism sector in the region.

The conference will go through the topics of bringing positive changes in the industry by exploring new possibilities. The panel of experts at the State of the Tourism Industry Conference 2024 will include notable personalities like Melanie Chen, Rick Sasso, Rosa Harris, Eugene Tiah, and Christus Gill.

The officials and experts will address the groundbreaking strategies in SOTIC gathering and will talk about crucial partnerships. The experts will share their knowledge and ideas that will also help in taking ordinary people forward to the mainstream for development.

In the SOTIC event, the focus will be on faces like Melanie Chen, the founding Chair of the Caribbean Energy Chamber. Melanie Chen will present her points on Embracing Sustainability: Balancing Profit and Planet.

It is known that she will shape the thoughts on how to bring steps of sustainable tourism into use that could benefit both businesses and the environment.

Chen’s words will help to make strategies for engaging communities and creating eco-friendly experiences while reducing carbon footprints in the environment. Along with Chen, Rick Sasso will also address the gathering, who is Chairman of MSC Cruises North America.

He will be one of the numerous cruise industry heavyweights who will be part of SOTIC 2024.

The name of Rick Sasso is among one of the well-respected individuals in the cruise industry. The insights of Rick Sasso will be crucial in the conference as he brings experience in the field of more than five decades to the table.

He will be discussing the future plans for the structure of Caribbean cruising, which will favor one of the major industries in the region.

Rosa Harris, Director of Tourism of the Cayman Islands and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Caribbean Tourism Organization, will also join the SOTIC 2024 at her home.

Chairman Harris will be discussing the topic of Charting the Future of Caribbean Aviation in the conference. She will also represent her research works on the aviation sector based on her observations.

Rosa Harris also chairs the Aviation Committee of the Caribbean Tourism Organization. The next name on the panel of experts at the conference is Eugene Tiah. Tiah is the CEO and President of the Caribbean Energy Chamber. He spent more than four decades in the oil and gas industry of the Caribbean and the US, which experience he brings to the table.

The words of Eugene Tiah on the step in the energy sector will be significant. The related points will be discussed under the topic of Embracing Sustainability: Balancing Profit and Planet.

The other crucial person is Christus Gill, an IT specialist who will be joining the State of the Tourism Industry Conference for 2024 (SOTIC).
