Nevis Culturama: Results announced for Grand Parade and Road March

St Kitts and Nevis: The 50th Nevis Culturama ends on Tuesday with Road march and Grand parades celebrating the culture and heritage of the nation. The highly anticipated events ended with great enthusiasm and the official results for both of them are out.
The Grand Parade event took place with four categories including Fantasy, Float, Folklore, and Ole Mas.
Grand Parade Results
‘Four Seasons Cultural Synergy’ secured first position in Fantasy Category with 795 points. The team was followed by ‘Anastasia Revellers’ who secured second position with 784 points and ‘Royal Rampage’ won third position with 754 points.
In the float category, the ‘Legacy of Masquerade’ grabbed first position with 733 points. The second position was then grabbed by ‘Who You Will Be?’ With 655 points and ‘St James Funlovers Oh Land of Beauty ‘scored 625 points which ended them on third position.
The Folklore category was won by ‘David Dynasty Big Drum Masquerade’ with 625 points and following them were ‘On De Spot’ and ‘NYDC Masquerade Troupe’ who scored 566 and 367 points ending on second and third positions respectively. The last category Ole Mas had its sole winner named ‘Those Were the Days’, who secured 721 points.
Road March Results
Kasonova Band hones the crown by grooving the audience on their track ‘Legacy’ ultimately securing 277 points. Kore Bands, while performing ‘Fresh’ secured second position with 258 points, while Odisi Band secured a third position from their track ‘Road Wuk Up’ with 240 points.
Notably, all the top three contenders were able to grab more higher positions on the chart with their tracks as Kore and Odissi Band’s, ‘bounce it and shake it’ and ‘Big Drum Soca’ were also able to achieve 4th and 6th position with 235 and 229 points respectively.
This is to be noted that, Kasonova Band’s ‘Legacy’ achieved first position, while its ‘Brown Sugar’ was only able to achieve 6th position with 222 points having a tough competition with Ras Browne’s ‘Look Back & Wuk Up’ which ended 7th with a difference of just one point.
Big 6’s ‘Wow’, Nu Wave Band’s ‘Knock it’, and Nu Wave band’s ‘Life’ grabbed 8th, 9th and 10th position respectively.
The 50th Culturama this year experienced great enthusiasm and excitement among the residents throughout its celebration. This year’s event was special as it completed its golden jubilee. The event provided the attendees an astounding experience of Nevisian culture and its heritage.
The event this year featured several Dance competitions, beauty pageants, cultural workshops, parades, performances, and a taste to Nevisian cuisine and culinary delights.
