Dennis Liburd, known by his stage name ‘PUMPA’ wins the Caribbean Impact award at the Caribbean Music Award ceremony held last night in Brooklyn, New York.

This significant achievement by the artist has added another star to his already impressive career and it marks a testament to the significant achievements he made to the Caribbean musical industry.

The Impact Award is notably handed to the person who has made a significant impact on the music industry with their innovative approach, unique style, and groundbreaking contribution to their respective genre.

With his extraordinary and bewitching personality, the 38-year-old artist came out to be the best fit for the category. The widely celebrated Soca artist emerged victorious after competing V’ghn, Terra D Governer, DJ Cheem, Rae, Mical Teja, and Yung Bredda.

The St Kitts and Nevis-born, and Virgin Island-based Soca artist expressed his deep gratitude to his supporters in an exuberant speech during the award ceremony. The artist then highlighted the unity of the small island states in the growing success of Caribbean music.

“I want to say thank you to everybody who has been supporting me throughout this journey. Thanks to all for making this possible,” pumpa said.

PUMPA followed his speech with his alluring personality. He continued adding, “I want to say thank you to the Virgin Islands and the people in them. Big up to the small island massive. Big Up St. Kitts, Dominica, Antigua, the whole small island crew. Trinidad and Tobago for busting me to the wall.”

“You understand? Big up to all, everybody represented for SOCA,” the artist noted while dedicating the award to his people and the Soca community. Upon his victory, the artist received constant appreciation for his success.

PUMPA has notably been involved in the realm of music very early in his life and launched his first solo album named ‘Boom Boom Bye’ in 2008. Following this he launched several albums named Best Ah Dem, Back to Basics, and more leading him to more success.
