Grenada: Anderson Peters with his majestic throw of 85.72 m won the gold medal in Men’s Javelin Throw at the Diamond League on Thursday. This win in Switzerland marked the athlete’s continuous success on an international platform.

Anderson Peters had a tough fight with athlete Julian Weber from Germany and Genki Den of Japan, whom he succeeded with his passion and determination to bring the title home. Julian Weber grabbed second position with a throw of 85.33m and Genki Dean Came third with 82.69m.

Anderson Peters is consistently receiving immense appreciation for his consecutive wins at different championships overseas. He notably grabbed a bronze medal position at the Paris Olympics 2024, where he was left behind by Arshad Nadeem and Neeraj Chopra with their exceptional throws.

Anderson following his appreciation at Paris Olympics has been constantly taking part in several other championships and has managed to make his presence felt among international sports enthusiasts with his outstanding performances.

He fetched two other golds at the Lausanne Diamond League and the World Athletics Continental Tour held at the Fribourgh Track Lab in Switzerland. The athlete’s win at the Lausanne Diamond League was worth noting as he set new records by scoring a personal best of 90.61m.

Anderson’s dedication and enthusiasm towards his sport have provided him with great accolades internationally and with his immense appreciation, the small island country of Grenada has achieved a spot on the international map.

The authorities at the island nation showcase their gratitude to the athlete for this recognition through their constant appreciation towards him. Notably, he also received a warm welcome along with Lindon Victor and Kirani James after their return to Grenada from the Paris Olympics.

The Prime Minister of the island nation, Dickon Mitchell, himself went to the airport to receive them and spent time to share their experience from their Olympic journey. Following their arrival a motorcade and a celebration event was held in order to honour the athlete of their win.
