UNDP set to host Ready Set Great Youth Conference 2024 on Oct 17

Carribean: The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) announced the launch of the annual Ready Set Great Youth in Development Conference. The opening event is scheduled for International Youth Day on Monday, 12 August, with the youth partners.

Registration will also be opened for the Conference that will take place in the Multi-Country Office (MCO) of UNDP situated in Kingston, Jamaica, on 17 October.

The intention of the Youth in Development Conference by UNDP is to make the young generation eligible to advance their own future. The platform works to eradicate poverty in regions of focus by taking action for the youth. Ready Set Great is a dedicated platform for the youth who want to work for the betterment of their nation.

The conference basically focuses on individuals of working age, between 18 to 35. The Ready Set Great platform pays attention to the young people of the nations served by the UNDP MCO. The countries on the list are like Bermuda, Cayman Islands, Turks and Caicos Islands, Bahamas, and Jamaica.

The Youth in Development Conference is joined by a panel of experts and youth delegates who share their views on youth and poverty.

The discussion focuses on bringing valuable solutions to the table that could be taken as steps in the direction of the betterment of the future of the young generation. The Conference also provides the participants with many activities and masterclasses.

The implementation of Ready Set Great saw the involvement of the Planning Institute of Jamaica, Sir Artur Lewis Institute for Social and Economic Research, Vision 2030 Secretariat, Statistical Institute of Jamaica, Young Women and Men of Purpose, Youths For Excellence Limited, Jamaica Union of Tertiary Students, Youths Inspiring Positive Change Jamaica, and the Caribbean Youth Climate Justice Coalition along with the representatives of UNDP.

The call of the conference is to eradicate the multidimensional and extreme poverty among youth by tackling the challenges of the time together.

That is the main reason UNDP chose the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty for the Ready Set Great Youth in Development Conference, which is on 17 October.

The one-day Conference will provide the participants with multiple benefits as it contains multiple points of focus. The Conference offers six master classes, one career & biz launchpad, and one development challenge for all.

The great thing is that the conference is sponsored by UNDP and the registration is free for all.

Interested people can go to the official site of Ready Set Great, readysetgreatja.com, and can book their spot at the Conference after registration opens on 12 August.

The people can choose from three options as per their interests that are provided by the platform. The one option is to join the gathering in person, slots in which are limited.

The other way is to mark your attendance through the online medium, where participants can join from anywhere they want without limitation of slots.
