Trinidad and Tobago: The police department of Trinidad and Tobago held and charged a male suspect for a murder case in Rio Claro. The accused was presented in front of the Master of High Court for legal trial on Friday, 23 August, for killing a retired principal.

The suspected individual in the murder case of Rio Claro, Trinidad, is identified in the police report as a 35-year-old man. The name of the accused in his official document is mentioned as Dorian Lewis.

The man facing the allegation of murder is said to be a local resident of the Rio Claro town of Trinidad. The victim of the fatal act is named James Gajadhar, a 77-year-old man.

James Gajadhar is also a local and was a school principal by profession, who was retired. The details on the update in the case of a senior citizen’s killing was shared by Trinidad and Tobago Police Service.

As per the Trinidad police report on the Rio Claro murder case, the death of the retired old man was observed on Wednesday, 14 August. The retired school principal was found in the community, wounded and bleeding.

The man in his late seventies was found suffering the wounds of chopping attack over his body. The old aged victim was helped and assisted to the Rio Claro Health Facility for medical treatment.

In the health facility, the injured senior citizen was examined and was later pronounced dead by the on-duty doctor officially. The police was also informed about the incident who registered the murder case.

The assigned team of the Rio Claro Crime Investigation Department officers started the investigation of the matter. The probe ended with the arrest of a male suspect, Dorian Lewis. He was caught in a locality of the Mayaro district of Trinidad.

The operation in relation to the Rio Claro murder case was also joined by the officers of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations, Region Two. The case was supervised by ASP Ag Victor, Inspector Ag Simon, Sergeant Ramsahai and PC Jaggernauth.

The accused was taken under interrogation process and eventually laid with charges of murder by WPC Hicks. Under same charges he was taken to the South B High Court, where his case was heard by Master Shabaana Shah.

The accused man was remanded into custody after appearance in front for the judge. Dorian Lewis was also ordered to undergo an evaluation at the St Ann’s Hospital. The next appearance is scheduled for 09 September.
