Caribbean Airlines adds 1,200 extra seats for upcoming Great Race weekend

Caribbean Airlines added 1,200 extra seats to their domestic airbridge between Trinidad and Tobago for the upcoming Great Race weekend. The flight will operate from August 14 to 27, 2026, aiming to expand their services during the busy summer vacation.

Travellers that are heading to Tobago for the upcoming Great Race weekend would have much easier time finding a flight. The extra seats and flights would be available to travellers from 14 August to 17 August right on time for the intense rush for spectators heading across the water to support the annual powerboat racing event.

This latest addition was on the airline's earlier promises to expand their services during the busy summer vacation season. Before this announcement, Caribbean Airlines had already added 2,856 extra seats to its schedule in August. With the newest update, the total number of additional seats provided for the month has jumped to higher numbers.

The national carrier has explained that the decision has come in response to the sharp increase in demand from the travellers. The Great Race is one of the most popular sport and entertainment spectacles of the year, attracting thousands of spectators from Trinidad and Tobago. The increased capacity is expected to help meet the high volume of traffic moving back and forth between the twin islands over the weekend.

Caribbean Airlines have confirmed that the 1,200 extra seats have already been loaded into their system and open for purchase, because demand remains exceptionally high, the airline is strongly urging customers to secure their tickets as early as possible to avoid any disappointment.
