Dominica: Agricultural Symposium all set to welcome OECS Youth this year  

Dominica: The authorities have confirmed hosting the inaugural Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) Youth at the Agricultural Symposium. This event is scheduled to be conducted over three days. During this, it will host several events at Windsor Park under the theme “Growing the Future and Harvesting Dreams”.

This agricultural meet will discuss and raise awareness among young individuals regarding the ever-evolving and thriving farming community. “The youth are the building blocks for a successful future. Their contribution to the agricultural sector will play a crucial role in ensuring food security and easy access to facilities.” the authorities stated.

The event will feature young candidates from 8 other countries to come together and share their opinions. This will help implement impressive strategies to channelize the agricultural sector towards the development of the industry. The meeting is scheduled to take place from 7^th to 9^th August 2024. The symposium will discuss different aspects including access to credit, market creation, agricultural utilization of innovation, and many more.

Several different plans have been designed in response to have a comprehensive and knowledgeable meet. The events include a Panel discussion which will focus on life stories and experience sharing by young farmers and agricultural specialists as they will share their knowledge and insights to latest technological advancements highlighting their pros and cons.

The event will also provide opportunities for networking as attendees with unique mindsets and several different regions will collaborate discussing their opinions on some of the important topics at the agricultural symposium.

Workshops and mentorship programs will also be held over a diverse area of topics. This will include research, innovation, technology, and agricultural business development. It will also include to discuss the role of the youth in active governance and participation to the industry.

A Trade fair will also be conducted for the participants and Dominicans to showcase their creations and business to different people at the agricultural symposium. The trade fair will take place on 7^th August 2024.
