St Kitts’ Jahzara Claxton named Player of T20I Series after Zimbabwe sweep

St Kitts and Nevis all-rounder Jahzara Claxton scored 73 runs and took seven wickets as West Indies Women completed a 3-0 T20I series sweep over Zimbabwe.

St Kitts and Nevis: Jahzara Claxton has been named Player of the Series after an impressive all-round campaign helped West Indies Women complete a 3-0 T20I series sweep over Zimbabwe.

The 20-year-old Kittitian all-rounder finished the three-match series with 73 runs and seven wickets, making important contributions with both bat and ball.

In her first T20 International held on October3, she through her charismatic performance, took 2 wickets of Zimbabwe due to which Zimbabwe was reduced to only 16 runs. Her score in this match was 31 runs and still not out. She was declared Player of the Match.

In her second T20 International held on October 5, she scored four runs, but took Zimbabwe’s three wickets which reduced its scores to 14 runs.

In her third T20 International held on October 7, she scored thirty eight runs, while taking Zimbabwe’s 2 wickets for 35 runs.

So, her total score in the whole series became 73 runs and 7 wickets, making her the Player of the Series. She won all the three matches by eight wickets, sweeping against Zimbabwe and taking West Indies Women Cricket Team to a spectacular victory.

Foreign Affairs Minister Dr Denzil L Douglas congratulated Jahzara Clarxton in a Facebook post and called for celebrating this international achievement. Clarxton’s consistent performance across all the three matches has established West Indies and St.Kitts and Nevis as a strong player in International cricket. The latest achievement is a proud moment for Sandy Point and St. Kitts and Nevis proud.
