St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew has congratulated students from the first ELEVATE cohort after they recorded a 100 per cent pass rate in English Language and Principles of Business. The students also had a 75 per cent rate in Human and Social Biology in the 2026 CSEC examinations.
This has proved that the second-chance approach of the programme through the ELEVATE CSEC Examination Centre is important.
The students were the first ones to sit in the CSEC examinations through the centre. Five Grade Ones, six Grade Twos and two Grade Threes, and additional passes in other subjects were recorded in the cohort.
In the congratulatory message shared by PM Drew, he said that the results showed that with good education, the people could get an opportunity to change and work towards a better future.
He recalled the pass rate and success of the students who sat in the examinations and congratulated them. Dr. Drew also appreciated and recognised the ELEVATE leadership, tutors, staff and others who supported the students throughout the programme.
He said that education plays a crucial role in helping people rebuild their lives and also explained that this achievement is more than examination grades.
PM Dr. Drew encouraged the students saying that their past does not have to define their future.
On April 29, 2026, the ELEVATE Centre was officially dedicated as a certified CSEC Examination Centre. It was originally established to provide the participants with another chance to obtain CSEC subjects.
The programme was launched earlier in July 2023. It was an approach to support at-risk and marginalised individuals. As the government wanted to train them, certify them, and build capacity.
The latest examination results also provide an early academic milestone for the programme’s CSEC centre. As the government is continuously making wider efforts to provide participants with opportunities for personal development and a fresh start.
