PM Drew receives national update in meeting with Dr Geoffrey Hanley

St. Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew met with Geoffrey Hanely, Deputy Prime Minister on September 28, 2026 in Miami. PM Drew provided his health update and got a brief on national matters and the country's recent participation in the 81st United Nations General Assembly in New York City.

Notably, PM Drew is receiving its treatment in Miami after suffering a stroke earlier September 2026. He expressed satisfaction with the work in his absence and also extended gratitude following a productive meeting with Dr Hanley.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Drew received a comprehensive update on several matters of national importance. He sheds light on several works that are ongoing in the government and across the ministries, providing details on the development work that is currently happening in St. Kitts and Nevis.

In addition, the discussion also revolved around the Federation’s engagement during the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly. They also discussed ongoing government priorities and matters that are concerned with the citizens of St. Kitts and Nevis.

Reflecting on the meeting, Prime Minister Drew said, “It was a pleasure to welcome my Deputy Prime Minister and to receive a full update on the work of our Government and our Federation’s engagements at the United Nations. I am encouraged by all that continues to be accomplished on behalf of our people. I thank Dr. Hanley and my Cabinet colleagues for their steady and dedicated leadership during this period, and I also extend my appreciation to Hon. Konris Maynard, who served as Acting Prime Minister while Dr. Hanley led St. Kitts and Nevis’ delegation to UNGA81.”
