Jamaica’s Kadrian Goldson wins ISTAF Berlin 100m in 9.98 seconds

Jamaica’s Kadrian Goldson led a Jamaican one-two finish at ISTAF Berlin after clocking 9.98 seconds, while three other Jamaicans also claimed victories at the Continental Tour Silver meeting.

Jamaica: Sprinter Kadrian Goldson won the men’s 100m at the ISTAF Berlin meeting in Germany on Sunday, August 30, 2026. He clocked 9.98 seconds at the Olympiastadion to finish ahead of fellow Jamaican Travis Williams and Great Britain’s Jeremiah Azu.

He ran 9.98 seconds with no wind and crossed the line first. Williams finished second in 10.10 seconds, while Azu took third in 10.17 seconds. The result gave Jamaica the top two places in the men’s 100m.

This was the fourth legal 100m run below 10 seconds for Goldson. His latest performance came after he set a new personal best of 9.89 seconds at the Ed Murphey Classic in Memphis, United States, on July 10. He ran 9.98 seconds with a legal wind of 1.9 m/s to win that race.

Goldson’s 9.98 was another sub-10 performance in a strong 2026 season. His 9.89 from Memphis remains his fastest 100m time.

The Jamaican team also produced three more victories at the meeting. Sabrina Dockery won the women’s 100m in 11.13 second. Danielle Williams took the women’s 100m hurdles in 12.78 seconds. Rushell Clayton won the women’s 400m hurdles in 53.72 seconds.

Goldson has been competing internationally for several years, He won the men’s 100m at the 2021 Summer World University Games in Chengdu, China, which were held in 2023 after being postponed due to the pandemic. He won the final in 10.4 seconds with a legal wind of 1.2 m/s.

He also won a bronze medal in the men’s 4x100m relay at the 2022 NACAC Championships. Goldson’s previous personal best was 9.94 seconds which he ran in Kingston in 2023, before he lowered the mark to 9.89 seconds in Memphis this year.

Goldson was also part of Jamaica’s mixed 4x100m relay team which won a gold at the 2026 World Athletics Relays. The Jamaican team set a world record of 39.62 seconds in the event.

The ISTAF Berlin meeting was held at the Olympiastadion as part of the World Athletics Continental Tour Silver series. The event included sprint, hurdles, middle-distance and field events.
