Jamaica: The police unit designated in the Alligator Pond village is actively working on an incident of the death of a 61-year-old man in Guts River.
The old man was found lifeless in the river in the Manchester parish during the daytime on Wednesday, 07 August, around 01:30 pm. The police department is finding the case of drowning suspicious, and the investigation is ongoing.
The dead senior citizen, whose body was recovered from the Guts River in the Alligator Pond village, is identified by the investigation officers and is mentioned in the death report.
The man in his early sixties is identified as a local resident of the parish who lived in the residence of Mandeville, Jamaica. The old man, Robert Foster, was mentioned in his documents as a mechanic in his field of occupation.
As per the collected information on the death case of Guts River in Alligator Pond, the victim, an old man, was at the place on the day for swimming in the popular river on the island.
It is said that as the senior citizen went into the water, he suddenly started having difficulties surviving inside. It is understood that the old man was not able to swim properly, which kept him unable to reach back to the side of the river.
Reportedly, the struggle in the water of Guts River led to the drowning of the victim, Robert Foster, which ultimately led to his death. The dead body of the old man was spotted, after which the incident was reported to the law enforcement authority.
After getting the information of the death in the region, lawmen from the Alligator Pond police station took charge in response and arrived at the mentioned address.
The team of law authorities in the region examined the dead body of the old man and passed their official declaration of death.
The scene was searched for the relevant clues related to the case, after which the dead body was removed and taken to the forensic department for post-mortem.
The assumptions are made that the death of the victim, Robert Foster, is not natural as the man who knew swimming can not drown in water of regular flow.
It is alleged that possibly the man suffered any issue while he was in the water, which could be due to an unknown health issue or something else.
It can be a matter of poisoning also, but nothing is confirmed as the investigating team is waiting for the post-mortem report to give direction to the case. However, the inquiry in the case of the death of the old man in Guts River is active.
