US military Caribbean strike
Caribbean: Four people were killed after the U.S. military struck a suspected drug-smuggling boat in the Caribbean Sea on Sunday, October 4, according to U.S. Southern Command.
SOUTHCOM said the operation was carried out by Joint Task Force Western Hemisphere against a go-fast vessel operating along established narcotics-trafficking routes.
There have been at least 70 strikes till now by the US Army and this brings the number of people killed in U.S strikes against “narcoterrorists” to 235 approximately since September 2025. The attack was in the form of an explosion in a high-speed moving boat. U.S Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) clarified that the boat was operating alongside the “known” narcotic routes and that the strike was based on a confirmed intelligence report. "Confirmed intelligence revealed the vessel's active involvement in narco-trafficking," the command said.
The Command said it conducted a “lethal, kinetic strike” on the boat operating alongside the well-established routes in the Caribbean Sea. It described those killed in the strike as “narco-terrorists”. It also released footage showing the vessel moving through the water as well as the attack on the ship that led to its explosion. The Defense Secretary said that Colombia, Guatemala and Honduras had granted their consent to the U.S to destroy the ships carrying narcotics as well as narco-terrorists. Guatemala denied such an agreement.
The Trump administration is persuading allied nations to grant consent to USA strike narcoterrorism in their regions.
Narcoterrorism involves transporting narcotics and drugs across international boundaries for more and more money, and the people who are involved in this activity are called narcoterrorists.
President Donald Trump stated that the USA is in “ armed conflict” in Latin America. He has justified the strikes by saying that these strikes are meant for protection and security of USA and to prevent narcotics from entering the U.S. No evidence has yet been provided regarding the presence of drugs in the ship. Ecuador launched similar missions with the U.S in march this year.
