Caribbean Airlines carries 66,814 passengers on Trinidad-Tobago Airbridge in July

Trinidad and Tobago: Caribbean Airlines carried 66,814 passengers between Trinidad and Tobago in July. This was achieved after domestic flights were increased to meet higher travel demand during the peak summer season.

The airline announced this in a media release on Thursday, saying that the additional services were a part of its enhanced summer schedule. This schedule was focused on providing more seats and supporting increased passenger traffic between the two islands.

Acting Chief Executive Officer Varma Khillawan said that the domestic airbridge is an important connection for the people travelling between Trinidad and Tobago. And this connection is even more significant in the peak summer season.

“The domestic airbridge is a vital economic and social lifeline connecting the people of Trinidad and Tobago. Caribbean Airlines recognises its importance to the economy of Tobago, particularly during the peak summer travel season, and we remain fully committed to providing a safe, reliable and dependable service for our customers.”

Caribbean Airlines said that the expanded schedule helped accommodate demand from families, business travellers, residents and visitors travelling between the islands during the vacation period.

The increased air service also supported Tobago’s tourism sector. As now, the tourism sector is experiencing higher visitor activity during the summer months. It is also contributing to wider economic activity across both islands.

In July, Caribbean Airlines announced that it would operate 72 additional flights between July 16 and August 31 to meet the increase in demand.

The additional flights have added 7,565 seats to the airline’s regular domestic schedule during the peak vacation period. These services are being operated using ATR and Boeing 737 aircraft, allowing the airline to increase capacity on the airbridge.

The latest figure of passengers has underlined that the demand for air travel between Trinidad and Tobago during the summer season is more. Residents and visitors rely on the domestic connection to travel between the islands.

Caribbean Airlines said that they will continue to monitor and analyze the passenger demand and operational performance throughout the peak season. They reaffirmed that the adjustments will be made to the schedule to maintain reliable services when necessary. They would keep responding to changing travel patterns to provide better services to passengers.
