ACCOCA and Burman University Collaborate for Sociocultural Development of Students

African Caribbean Centre of Central Alberta, also known as ACCOCA, collaborated with Burman University on the sociocultural development of the students. The collaboration between the two institutions situated in Canada was officially announced on Wednesday, 04 September.

ACCOCA is an NGO that works for the socially cohesive and prosperous cultural diaspora. In the official media statement, the authorities called the partnership as a great collaboration. The intention of the collaboration is to focus on students of African and Caribbean backgrounds.

The institutions are aiming for the betterment of the students completing their studies at the university. The programs being implemented as a part of the collaboration will lead the students to development in vast fields. The officials believe that the programs will help them in their careers and employment.

The collaborative efforts between African Caribbean Centre of Central Alberta and Burman University will provide significant opportunities for students. This initiative will focus on providing the available resources to the students with the help of the various programs.

The collaboration is coming up with projects covering the Employment Programs, Black Youth Leadership and Community Engagement Programs, Networking and Business Mentoring, and Afro Caribbean Community Graduation.

In the employment programs, the graduates at the university will get assistance in job search and support for job placement. The students will also be assisted with job search techniques and professional resume writing and will be given employment training.

Under the Black Youth Leadership and Community Engagement Programs, the students will be empowered and encouraged to participate actively in their communities. Meanwhile, the Networking and Business Mentoring program will provide them with opportunities to connect with professionals in the business world.

The Afro-Caribbean Community Graduation aims to bring students together in order to celebrate their academic success. The collaboration under the various initiatives between ACCOCA and Burman University came as a positive development for students.

The students receiving their education at the university expressed their excitement and eagerness after knowing about the major collaboration. The officials and students both see this step as a road of betterment for the Afro-Caribbean community.
