Trinidad and Tobago: The Film and Folklore Festival is ready to organize the event of the October Fest Caribbean Edition 2024. The event is dedicated to the creation of Caribbean filmmakers and will be held on the dates of 26 October and 27 October in Trinidad and Tobago.
The administration of the Film and Folklore Festival raised a call for all the filmmakers in the region to submit their works of art. The submitted film will be displayed during the event of the October Fest Caribbean Edition 2024.
It is disclosed that the exclusive screening of the submitted movies will be done at Caribbean Cinemas in Trincity. The hard-line for the applicants is that the October Fest Caribbean Edition 2024 is open only for filmmakers of Caribbean origin.
The works of Caribbean origin will be displayed at the event by the Film and Folklore Festival. The people who also hold citizenship in any Caribbean nation can also participate and submit their works. The notable point is the submission cost, which is absolutely free for eligible candidates.
Interested and eligible filmmakers can submit their short films and documentaries in the vibrant celebration of October Fest Caribbean Edition at the Film and Folklore Festival. The films are divided into three theme categories of Folklore, Caribbean Living, and Open Film of Any Genre.
Under the Folklore theme, the filmmaker’s work can be on the legends, myths, and traditional stories of the Caribbean. Caribbean Living will cover the films based on the cultural practices, everyday experiences, and vibrant communities around the region.
The Caribbean Living theme category focuses on the life, challenges, stories, and social issues in the region. The third theme category is Open Film, which as named, will be open for all other films. Under this category, the film can be of any genre, displaying the creativity and versatility of filmmakers.
The last date for submission of films by the filmmakers for the October Fest Caribbean Edition 2024 in the Film and Folklore Festival is 01 September. The applicants can submit their films through the official webpage of the festival, on filmfreeway.com/FilmandFolkloreFestival.
The Film and Folklore Festival is a reputed and well-known occasion in the Caribbean, which is hosted in Trinidad and Tobago.
