Southern Division Police seized illegal marijuana and ammunition

Trinidad and Tobago: The police department seized quantities of marijuana during the operations conducted in the different localities around the Southern Division. The Twin Island nation’s Police Service Department shared information about the crime eradication exercises that were executed in the region on Wednesday, 31 July. The dedicated actions taken by the dedicated teams of officers also led to the seizure of illegal ammunition.

The crime eradication exercises in the Southern Division, which led to the seizure of illegal possessions like ammunition and marijuana, were targeted to the separated spots. The operations were primarily focused on the localities of San Fernando and La Romaine in Trinidad. The actions were taken by the dedicated officers of the Southern Division police section on the basis of collected information through intelligence.

As per the information shared on the marijuana seizure in the Southern Division, the first crime eradication exercise was conducted by the assigned lawmen’s team in the locality of The Steps along Lord Street in San Fernando. The police officers on the operation arrived at the marked area and started the search of the place, which led to the discovery of an illegal item.

Reportedly, the policemen on duty found three plastic bags during the search which were containing marijuana. The collected quantity of marijuana was mentioned to be of high grade which weighed around a hundred and twelve grams. The other crime eradication was focused by the assigned party of law enforcement officers in the locality along George Street in La Romaine.

The police officers took charge after collection of the intelligence information and arrived at the targeted locality near the home of a priority offender. The place of interest was eventually searched by the team of investigators which led to the discovery of another illegal possession of marijuana. The quantity of marijuana found by the police officers was weighed around a hundred and three grams.

The chain of crime eradication exercises in the Southern Division also led to the responding team of police officers to another locality of La Romaine. The intelligence led officers to the locality along Charles Street where an abandoned building was on target. In the search of the abandoned place, the lawmen collected a plastic bag of black colour.

After checking the plastic bag, the officers collected ten counts of 0.45 ammunition, fifteen counts of 5.56 ammunition, and two electronic scales covered in clear plastic wrap. The illegal marijuana and ammunition collected from all the sites in the Southern Division were seized and taken to the police station, after which the investigations were continued.

The crime eradication exercises were coordinated by Senior Superintendent Soodeen, Superintendent Singh, ASP Phillip, ASP Ramsaran, and Inspector Lewis. The operations were executed under the supervision of Sergeant Alexander, Sergeant Singh, and Ag Cpl Huggins. The officers from the San Fernando Crime Patrol Unit and the San Fernando Enquiries Unit were also involved in the proceedings.
