Trinidad and Tobago: A search operation is active by the law enforcement authorities in a case of robbery recorded in Woodbrook, Port of Spain. The wanted suspects of the offense looted the victim, pretending to be a private hire taxi driver and a passenger on Thursday, 29 August.
The victims of the robbery case in Woodbrook, Trinidad, are a 76-year-old male senior citizen and a 34-year-old woman. The suspects are mentioned as a male, who was acting as a taxi driver, and a female, who acted as a fellow passenger.
As per the reports on the Woodbrook robbery case, both the victims lost their cash and other items valued at nearly ten thousand dollars in total. It is said that the motor vehicle used by the criminals was a Nissan B14 car of silver color.
It is mentioned in the details shared by the victim old man and lady, that the taxi, pretending to be a private hire vehicle, was already occupied by a woman in the front passenger seat. The victim lady was the one who hired the vehicle from Richplain in Diego Martin.
After covering some distance, the other passenger, a 76-year-old man, stopped the taxi at Four Roads in Diego Martin. The victims were sitting on the back passenger seats while the undisclosed criminals were seated on the front end.
The act of robbery in Trinidad was executed by the two suspects when the pretended private hire taxi arrived in Woodbrook. Along Carlos Street, the male driver stopped the car and exited the taxi to initiate their plan of offense.
The taxi driver went to the back door and approached the victim woman while the robbery was announced by the suspected woman in the front seat. As the victim lady and old man observed the intention of the offenders, they started struggling.
In the physical struggle, the victims hit the suspects with several blows over the body and head but failed to secure their valuables. The male suspect took all the possession from the victim’s senior citizen, while the victim woman was lotted by a suspect woman.
The old man lost two thousand dollars in cash, two of his Samsung phones valued at around thirty-eight hundred dollars, along with his passport. Meanwhile, the victim lady lost her handbag, containing three hundred dollars in cash and a Samsung phone of three thousand dollars.
Straight after collecting the looted items, the offenders of the robbery left the victims at the crime spot of Woodbrook, Trinidad, and fled in their motor car. The victim senior citizen, along with the victim woman, approached the police department to register their complaint.
The officer on duty recorded the statements and collected all the relevant details, after which the investigation was ordered. Along with the ongoing probe, the police department is also urging the locals to share information related to the crime if they notice something.
