Shooting during robbery left one bandit injured in Princes Town

Trinidad and Tobago: The case is under investigation in which a male bandit was admitted to the hospital after getting injured by a gunshot in the locality of Princes Town. The incident took place during an act of robbery in which the injured man was involved during the early daytime on Monday, 03 August, around 09:00 am. It is understood that the bandit was shot accidentally by his accomplice during the attempted unlawful act.
The bandit involved in the robbery case of Princes Town who got injured by shooting is identified by the investigation department and is mentioned in the report. The individual is mentioned as a 34-year-old man, who is a local resident of the town of Trinidad and lives along Saint Croix Road. The injured man was taken into police custody as a suspect in the robbery case, after which he was helped with medical assistance.
It is understood that the injured robbery suspect was taken to the Princes Town District Health Facility when he was seeking attention for his wound of a gunshot. The police department was also able to arrest the other male suspect involved in the attempted robbery. The identity of the second culprit of the robbery was also disclosed by police, as per which the suspect is a 25-year-old man, who also lived in the same region as the injured man.
As per the reports on the robbery case of Princes Town in which the bandit got injured, the victims of the unlawful act were heading in a taxi along Cemetery Street in the town when the act took place. It is said that when the two victims arrived near the Navet public cemetery, the suspect arrived at the place and stopped them with the intention of executing the crime. The victims of the attempted robbery are mentioned as 29-year-old and 24-year-old individuals, among whom one was the driver of a taxi and the other was a passenger.
It is mentioned in the reports that the bandits hired the taxi as passengers, after which they asked the driver to take them to Duff Road. However, when the taxi arrived at Saint Croix Road in Princes Town, the bandits revealed their intention and pulled out the firearms that they were carrying, and they got armed. The robbery was announced, and the bandits asked the driver to keep driving till they reach Duff Road, where both victims were assaulted physically.
Reportedly, the suspects took a hundred dollars along with the driving permit of the taxi driver during the robbery. Along with that, the bandits also took ten thousand dollars, a chain of gold, two rings of gold, and a cell phone from the passenger victim. The wallet was also stolen, which contained a taxi badge, bank cards, and some cash. The robbery was estimated to be more than twenty thousand dollars in total.
It is understood that the driver started a struggle to disarm the bandit in which the firing took place. During the physical struggle in the Princes Town robbery incident, one bandit suffered the injury of a gunshot. The bullet hit the bandit on the right side of his torso. Straight after getting injured, that bandit pointed the gun in the direction of the victims and fired several gunshots.
The victims safely escaped the space, after which they received help from the people around them. The police department of Princes Town was contacted, and the unlawful situation was explained to the active officers. Immediately, the action was taken by the authorities, and the culprits were held. The investigation into the attempted robbery and shooting is active.
