Boston Police arrests multiple suspects with illegal firearms amid Caribbean Festival

As the Caribbean Festival is ongoing in Boston, Massachusetts, the police department disclosed the details of the seized nine illegal firearms and arrested eleven suspects. The results were achieved during a series of exercises in the region throughout the day on 24 August.
It is stated that during the crime eradication exercises during the Caribbean Festival, action was taken to maintain the security measurement in Boston. The police department also mentioned that the operation ended without any causality or injury to any lawmen or suspect.
The exercises in Boston, during Caribbean Festival times, were started in the early hours of the day, which resulted in major arrests. In the dark hours, at nearly 02:11 am, the officers took charge in the locality along Washington Street and Talbot Avenue.
The action was taken by the Youth Violence Strike Force, who held a suspicious teenager under the charges of firearm possession. The suspect is mentioned as a 15-year-old boy who was spotted fleeing from the site after observing the presence of police officers.
The young man was found in possession of a P80 Ghost gun loaded with ammunition. The teenager was arrested immediately for the unlawful act and laid with charges of firearm and ammunition possession. The young man is expected to appear for trial in Dorchester Juvenile Court.
Another operation was executed on the day by the officers dedicated to patrolling the Caribbean Festival in Mattapan, Boston, for security and protection. The time of the action was noted around 11:15 am on the day.
During the exercise, the assigned police officers arrested two men, who were spotted acting suspiciously. Among two men, one was a teenager, an 18-year-old man, and a 23-year-old man. The teenager is named Edgard Matos from Hyde Park, while the other is Breaja Nichols from Brighton.
The duo was held after a confrontation and was found with illegal firearms. Breaja Nichols was found with an additional illegal possession of crack cocaine along with a Taurus G2C firearm. The men were taken into custody and charged with relevant crimes.
Breaja Nichols was laid with an additional charge of having the intention to distribute crack cocaine during the time of the Caribbean Festival in Boston. At nearly 12:57 pm, three more teens were arrested between the ages of 16 and 17 near Castlegate Road with illegal firearms.
The police discovered a Glock 22 and a Ruger 38 Special Revolver in an unattended backpack with a quantity of ammunition. The illegal findings were situated with the suspected teens who were taken to the police station for the unlawful act.
One of the teens also faced an additional charge of possessing stolen property. At around 02:40 pm, the police held a 25-year-old man at the Boston Caribbean Festival. The man was apprehended with a Glock 19 while attempting to evade lawmen.
The firearm was fully automatic laced with a Glock switch and a flashlight. The man is identified by his name Avery Coke, who is from Canton. The man was laid with additional charges of resisting the arrest.
A 34-year-old man named Dayshawn Grant from Roxbury was also arrested on the same day with the illegal possession of a Ruger EC9. The man was held at nearly 05:01 pm at Blue Hill Avenue along Seaver Street. The man is a known culprit to police for such criminal acts.
Just after a few minutes, at 05:40 pm, one more male suspect was held with a Glock 19 in Boston during the Caribbean Festival. The suspect was caught in his second offense, who is mentioned as a 22-year-old man named Noah Hearns from Randolph.
The crime eradication exercises were continued till the evening, at around 07:15 pm, on the day during the Boston Caribbean Festival. The police officers conducted the final arrest of the day in which a 23-year-old male suspect was taken under custody.
The suspect was named Danyael Torres from Dorchester, who was apprehended after he grabbed attention by throwing a substance from his motor vehicle. The thrown substance hit an on-duty police officer, after which a traffic stop was executed.
The suspect vehicle of Danyael Torres was searched, which helped the officers to find a Taurus PT111 Millennium. The illegal item was seized, and the man was arrested. The culprit was charged with possession of an illegal firearm, including assault on a police officer.
