TTFA President lauds U-15 Girls and High-Performance squad for stellar performances
President of the Trinidad and Tobago Football Association lauded the performances of the U-15 Girls Football Team and High-Performance Squad

Trinidad and Tobago: The President of the Trinidad and Tobago Football Association shared his word to commend the performances of the U-15 Girls Football Team and High-Performance Squad.
Kieron Edwards is the serving president of TTFA, who shared his heartfelt congratulations to the teams on Friday, 09 August, for their efforts in the football matches.
U-15 Girls Football and TTFA High Performance Squad, both teams, are the participants of the Concacaf Championship 2024. The football Championship is being hosted by the island nation of Trinidad and Tobago. The matches are organized in the Hasely Crawford Stadium in the capital, Port of Spain.
The journey of both teams to represent the nation started in the championship on Monday, 05 August. The first match of the U-15 Girls Football Team was fixed against the team of Antigua and Barbuda.
Meanwhile, the TTFA High Performance Squad was scheduled to face the challenge by the team from the US Virgin Islands.
TTFA President Kieron Edwards encouraged the players for their efforts while extending his gratitude towards the achievement of the teams. He initiated his statement while talking about the team of girls playing U-15 football matches for the nation.
The U-15 Girls Team showed their skills on the ground, which was a tough challenge for the opponents facing them.
In the opening match, the young girls faced the team of Antigua and Barbuda, where players of both teams ended on the same level. The match of Concacaf Championship 2024 ended as a draw with a score of 0-0, as no side was able to win the goal line. After taking the first step in the championship with a draw, the team took over Curacao’s girls.
In the U-15 football match between ‘Curacao’ and ‘Trinidad and Tobago,’ the Trinidadian girls bounced back with a win. The team made its way further by defeating Curacao by 1-0 on Tuesday.
The best performance of the girls was recorded against the Grenada team. The Trinidadian team defeated the girls of Grenada in a sided match, which finished with a score of 5-0.
The U-15 football team booked its spot in the semi-finals by defeating Grenada with bold margin. Anyhow, the team was not able to win the semi-final match against the Dominican Republic.
The game went in the favor of the opponent with the help of the deciding goal by Kaylee Lainez in the last minutes. The competitive match ended with a score of 1-0.
TTFA President said about the performance of U-15 team in Concacaf Championship 2024. “The U-15 Girls team has shown remarkable skill and determination throughout the championship. Their game against the Grenada team is a testament to their dedication and hard work. We are proud of their achievement.”
President Kieron Edwards continuied his flow of words and alsom mentione about the efforts of the TTFA High Performance Squad in the championship.
He said, “I am equally pleased with the TTFA High Performance Squad and their encouraging display. Their perseverance and dedication on the field have been commendable, and we want them to continue to strive for betterment.”
The TTFA High Performance Squad ended their last match against the opposing team of Saint Kitts and Nevis with a victory.
The match scheduled for Tuesday in the Hasely Crawford Stadium was concluded with a score of 1-0. TTFA High Performance Squad ended the group stage with a helpful four points for the championship.
About the betterment of the sport for the future, President Edwards said, “We are in the right direction, but this is just the initial stage. The success of our young teams is a clear indication that our approach and strategies are coming up with results. However, we are fully dedicated to the continued development of our players, coaches, and infrastructure.”
He added, “Our ultimate goal is to see Trinidad and Tobago football thriving on the regional as well as international stages, and we will not stop until we achieve that.” TTFA President stated that there is still a lot of work to be done for the improvement of the sport to bring the expected results.
