Trinidad: 59-year-old man found dead at Queens Park Savannah

Trinidad and Tobago: A 59-year-old man was found dead at The Hollows, on the northern side of the Queens Park Savannah in Port of Spain, on Saturday afternoon, August 15. The deceased has been identified as Dave Blackman of Savannah Road #1, Diego Martin.

According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), Blackman was discovered by two joggers at one of Port of Spain's popular recreational areas who alerted the police after they saw him around 5:25 pm. Officers and emergency medical personnel responded to the area.

The District Medical Officer examined his body and later pronounced Blackman dead at the scene. Crime Scene Investigators analyzed the site while investigations were carried out by the police. As of now, foul play is not suspected.

Blackman’s identity was confirmed using identification documents discovered at the crime scene. His body was later transferred to the Port of Spain mortuary.

Police from the St Clair Police Station and other police units were involved in the investigation. Probe into the incident remains active.

Locals have taken to social media to share their condolences with the victim’s family and friends. One individual commented, “They did say no foul play some people dies naturally every day. May he R.I.E.P. This life is not for the faint heart nuh.”

Another user said, “Let's pray is from natural causes because God knows I fedup now. Every day it’s something. Condolences to his loved ones.”
