Jamaica: A Taxi operator in Jamaica got brutally assaulted by thieves disguised in female attires on Friday. The incident is reported from a house at Gerbera Drive in Mona, St Andrew. The incident involved assault which left the taxi driver severely injured.
According to reports from the Half-Way Tree police it is noted that all three accused boarded a taxi at the cross road bus park at 7:30 pm on Friday. The driver was told to drop them at Gerbera Drive in St Andrew which he did.
Upon arrival at the demanded location, Davis, one of the criminals placed a knife over the throat of the Taxi driver leaving him in a state of shock and stress. The Taxi driver in response to this shockingly asked Davis the reason behind this attempt.
However, Devis reportedly removed the keys from the vehicle ignition and also took out the mobile phone of the taxi driver. The criminals then dragged the driver out of the car to a house nearby where he was robbed of his belongings. The cross-dresser trio robbed the taxi driver of his Samsung Tablet, worth $10000, a Samsung Galaxy S20 smartphone valued at $72000 and $18000 cash.
During the interview, the taxi driver also revealed that he was severely beaten until he was thrown out of the house with only the keys to his car. The incident after reporting was immediately addressed by the police who upon investigation at the crime site found all three accused and arrested them immediately.
The police upon intimation immediately charged the three men with charges of robbery and aggravation. The three accused have been identified as a 26-year-old Jovonnie Miller, commonly known as ‘Jade’ of Three Hill District, St Mary. A 23-year-old Dwight Davis or ‘Kayla’ of Little London, Westmoreland and a 19-year-old cosmetologist Nickyle Hutchinson known as ‘Tahlia’ of West Street, Kingston.
Whereas, the final date for the court hearing for all three of them is currently not finalised and the police is taking best measures to provide the robbed with justice as soon as possible.
