World Creole Music Festival 2026 returns to Dominica with month-long cultural programme

Roseau, Dominica: The World Creole Music Festival is returning to Dominica from October 3 to November 4, 2026 under the theme, “pulsating rhythms.” The calendar of the events has been launched as the island will come alive with music, food, film, heritage celebrations and community events.

The festivities begin on October 3 with the Belles Combo Benefit Concert in Mahaut, followed by the Flavours of the World Festival at Windsor Park Sports Stadium on October 4. Other early-October highlights include the President’s Charities Foundation Fundraising Dinner on October 10 and NDFD Creole in the Streets on October 16.

The cultural programme continues with Rize N Whine and Heritage Day at the Botanic Gardens on October 18, followed by Ti-Vilaj Kwéyòl! Tout Biten Dominik, taking place from October 19 to 22 at the Botanic Gardens.

The calendar also introduces a number of events extending beyond the music festival. On October 29, the premiere of Rebel & Jango is scheduled at Emerald Movies, Prevo Cinemall, while Creole Day on October 30 will feature the launch of Mas Domnik 2027 along the Dame Eugenia Charles Boulevard.

The same day marks the beginning of Fête La Pwent, running from October 30 to November 1 at Pointe Michel Feast. Other events include Wato Dominica at Rosalie Bay Resort on October 31 and the Ediflor Creole Edition in Giraudel on November 1.

November continues with a Cultural Gala at the Botanic Gardens, before the island observes Independence Day on November 3 at Windsor Park Sports Stadium. The celebrations conclude with Community Day of Service on November 4.

With events spread across Roseau, Canefield, Mahaut, Giraudel, Pointe Michel, Rosalie and other communities, the calendar extends beyond a single festival weekend. It presents a broader programme designed around Dominica’s music, language, food, traditions, arts and community life.

For visitors, the programme provides an opportunity to experience Dominica during one of its most culturally significant periods, while for residents, it brings together communities across the island in a month-long celebration of national identity.

The combination of the World Creole Music Festival, Creole celebrations and Independence activities positions October and early November as a particularly active period on Dominica’s events calendar, showcasing the cultural character that continues to distinguish the Nature Island of the Caribbean.
