Dominica Poker Run 2026

The Dominica Poker Run 2026 officially wrapped up high energy, fierce camaraderie and unforgettable marine festivities, culminating in a spectacular grand finale along the picturesque shores of Toucarie.

Serving as the ultimate stop of the event, Toucarie transformed into a bustling hub of excitement as powerboats, islanders and international visitors converged to celebrate another successful year on the water. Participants spent the day navigating Dominica’s stunning western coastline, stopping at designated checkpoints to collect playing cards in a quest to build the winning five card hand.

Rather than a test of sheer boat speed, the Poker Run celebrated strategy, marine culture, seamanship and island pride, bringing together sea lovers from across the Caribbean and beyond.

The journey began earlier in the day with powerboats launching into crystal-clear turquoise waters. Each stop along the coastline offered boater crews a chance to draw cards, soak in scenic cliffs, and interact with enthusiastic crowds cheering from the shore. By the time the fleet rounded the northern coast into Toucarie Bay for the fifth and final stop, the anticipation was palpable.

Boaters anchored near the shore, tossed off their life vests, and joined spectators on the beach for the moment everyone was waiting for: the card reveal and prize presentation.

As the sun began to dip, the official award ceremony kicked off on the main stage set up right along the beach. Tension mounted as officials calculated the card hands collected throughout the day.

1st Place Champion: Team Solstic Marine claimed the ultimate bragging rights and the grand prize of $10,000 after revealing the highest-ranking card hand of the day.

2nd Place Runner-Up: Team Dude “Dowad” delivered a strong performance to secure second place, walking away with $3,000.

3rd Place Winner: Team Pier Pressure rounded out the top three podium spots, taking home $1,500.

In addition to the card competition, organisers recognised teams that went above and beyond to elevate the atmosphere on the water:

Most Patriotic Boat & Best Team Chant: Team Dude

Most Energetic Crew: Team Hustle

Best Team Mascot: Discovery Hawks

With the awards officially handed out, the event smoothly transitioned into a full-scale beach party. Toucarie resonated with authentic island vibes, powered by energetic live music, rhythmic drumming, and sets from top local DJs that kept the shore dancing late into the night. Food stalls served up local seafood, barbecue, and cold drinks, giving participants the perfect opportunity to relax, share stories from the open sea, and celebrate the day’s achievements.

Organisers celebrated a record turnout of 15 registered boat crews alongside visitors traveling from Miami, New York, and neighboring Caribbean islands. As the lights dimmed over Toucarie, the 2026 Dominica Poker Run officially went down in the books as a massive success for local marine tourism, community spirit, and pure island fun.
