The Prime Minister highlighted the assistance provided to families seeking medical treatment and the purchase of five ambulances as part of wider efforts to strengthen healthcare services.

The Children's Medical Fund in St. Kitts and Nevis has supported 152 children to date, while the Government has invested approximately EC$1.7 million in five new ambulances to strengthen emergency medical services across the Federation.
Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew announced the figures while outlining the administration's investments in healthcare access, emergency response and medical assistance for families.
The Children's Medical Fund provides financial support to children requiring medical treatment, helping families access essential healthcare services that might otherwise be difficult to afford.
Dr Drew highlighted the programme as an important intervention for families, contrasting its introduction with the previous Team Unity administration, during which the fund had not been established.
The acquisition of five new ambulances represents another component of the government's efforts to strengthen the country's emergency medical infrastructure. The investment is intended to improve emergency response capacity and the transportation of patients requiring urgent medical attention.
The Prime Minister said healthcare remained a priority for his administration and called for greater cooperation between the government and opposition to address the challenges facing the sector.
He argued that healthcare improvements should be approached as a national responsibility rather than becoming a source of political disagreement.
Dr Drew also addressed criticism surrounding healthcare outcomes, emphasising the efforts being made by medical professionals to preserve lives and improve patient care.
He maintained that although challenges remained, the government would continue investing in services and infrastructure to improve healthcare delivery throughout St. Kitts and Nevis.
The Children's Medical Fund and the new ambulances form part of the administration's broader efforts to improve access to medical assistance and strengthen the healthcare system.
