Bernella Velinor to represent Saint Lucia at Miss Universe 2026

Saint Lucia: Bernella Velinor has been selected to represent Saint Lucia at Miss Universe 2026. The international competition is scheduled to take place in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on 24 November.

Velinor competed among 12 contestants to secure the national title and was selected to represent the country at the 75th edition of the Miss Universe competition. Velinor emerged alongside finalists Chancy Frontenelle and Danielle Private in the selection process which began in January and concluded in June 2026.

The three-week Miss Universe competition will bring together aspirants from around the world in Puerto Rico before the final on 24 November. According to reports, 130 contestants are going to participate in the international competition this year.

Velinor has experience in the hospitality industry and she is bringing forward her expertise to the global stage. She works as a World of Hyatt Supervisor in Front Office and Concierge Operations. She is also an executive with Secrets Resorts according to information by the Miss Universe Saint Lucia organizers.

Velinor has given credit to her grandmother for influencing her approach to service, compassion, and community involvement. She also said that cooking, sewing, nature and travel are some of her interests.

Beyond the pageant, Velinor said that she wants to use this platform for supporting the development of young people. She aspires to establish a charity that would help with the personal and professional development of young people. The charity will also encourage the youth to participate in the social and economic development of Saint Lucia.

Velinor also wants to build a career in image management consultancy. She is interested in modelling, fashion, hospitality, brand representation, personal well-being and self-development.

The Miss Universe Saint Lucia organization which is led by Cinnamon Productions selects and prepares Saint Lucian delegates for international competition. According to the organisation, this year, the preparations were conducted with Saint Lucian and international professionals. They worked across areas like pageantry, design, coaching, business mentoring and communications.

Velinor will now be preparing for the three-week Miss Universe programme before taking the international stage in November. The island has sent representatives to the global competition on various occasions since 1977.
