A male suspect from Arima was arrested and charged by the law protection authority under the case of murder by stabbing

Trinidad and Tobago: A male suspect from Arima was arrested and charged by the law protection authority under the case of murder by stabbing. The accused man was held under the allegation of killing a teenager for which he was scheduled for a court hearing on Tuesday, 20 August.

The individual suspected in the teen murder case of Arima is identified by his document name, Rodney Mitchel. Rodney Mitchel is disclosed to be a 46-year-old man who is a local resident of the town in Trinidad. The man lives in the Malabar locality.

The details in relation to the unlawful act of murder in Arima were shared by the Trinidad and Tobago police services. The information by police stated that the accused was held by the officers on Tuesday, 13 August.

The man was laid by the investigating police team with relevant charges on Monday, 19 August. Under the filed sections, he was booked for an appearance in court. The charges were laid on the advice of Honore Paul, the Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions.

The team victim of the Arima murder case was also identified by police as a resident of Laventille, Trinidad. It is mentioned in the case report that the 19-year-old victim was named Khaleeq Thomas. Khaleeq Thomas lives in a residence along Picton Road in Dan Kelly.

As per the details by Trinidad police about the Arima murder case, the killing was recorded around 02:35 pm on Tuesday. The officers received information about a stabbing incident near the locality of Queen’s Park Savannah.

The act was observed opposite the National Academy for the Performing Arts, where the victim was found lying in a pool of blood. It is said that the victim man was injured with the wound of stabbing by a sharp object and was still alive.

Subsequently, the wounded teenager was assisted in reaching the Port of Spain General Hospital for treatment. The man was examined in the hospital and was pronounced dead officially by the doctor at 02:44 pm.

The identification of the dead man was done with the help of his father. The police officers started an investigation, and based on the gathered details, they arrested the suspect in connection with the murder.

The accused was eventually taken into police custody and transferred to the Woodbrook Police Station. The male suspect was securely detained and charged after the interrogation and proceedings. The case was handled by the officers of Homicide Bureau of Investigations Region One.
