Antigua and Barbuda: Pregnant woman killed, two injured in Bathlodge shooting

Antigua and Barbuda: A pregnant woman was murdered in Antigua and Barbuda after an assailant shot her three times in Bathlodge on Monday night (September 21, 2026). Along with her, two people were also injured in the incident which also included a 13-year-old boy.

A woman was 20-year-old and found dead when police arrived at the spot. Notably, three gunmen entered a house in the area about 11: 30 pm and opened fire relentlessly which hit the three individuals.

The pregnant woman died at the scene, while the teenager and a 25-year-old man were transported to hospital by the Emergency Medical Services. The 13-year-old is in a critical condition, after he was shot in the face.

Notably, all of them were taken to the hospital, but failed to safeguard the woman in an incident. No motive has so far been ascertained for the grisly gun attack.

According to the authorities, the calm of late Monday night was shattered in Bathlodge when three gunmen entered a home and opened fire on the people inside. The sudden attack, reported at approximately 11:30 pm, left everyone shattered in the community. The young expectant mother did not survive the attack.

However, no other information has been unveiled by the government of Antigua and Barbuda and the Royal Police Force.
