Anguilla’s Akèma Carty wins Miss Caribbean Beauty and Intelligence 2026

Anguilla: Akèma Carty of Anguilla was crowned Miss Caribbean Beauty and Intelligence 2026 on Saturday, August 22, at the National Cultural Centre in Georgetown, Guyana. She competed against delegates from six other Caribbean territories. Carty also collected three sectional awards during the regional competition. This added to her career achievements as she bagged the Miss Anguilla 2026 title earlier this month.

In the beauty pageant, Guyana’s Rickyta Ambrose was named the first runner-up, while Antigua and Barbuda’s Abigail Piper was the second runner-up. Tia Browne of Barbados was named third runner-up, according to the post pageant results.

Abigail Piper also held a strong position in the event as she was reported to have won Best in Talent, Best in Evening Wear, the People’s Choice Award and Miss Resilient.

The reported results also show Piper at 2,531.5 points and Browne at 2,500 points. The figures were published as part of the post-pageant results.

Besides the regional crown, Carty also received three other awards. She was named Best Promotional Video, Best Smile and Best in Swimsuit. As per reports, Ambrose received Best First Interview and Miss Intelligence, while Browne was named Best in Costume.

Seven delegates were competing for the crown, they represented Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Guyana, Saint Lucia, St. Maarten and Trinidad and Tobago. The main focus is put on intelligence, leadership, confidence, culture and community service in this pageant. According to the official voting platform, the People’s Choice winner receives a place in the Top 4.

Carty entered the regional competition after she won the Miss Anguilla 2026 crown. In the pageant, she competed against four contestants to secure the title. She was praised for her victory, her talent, poise and confidence.

During the Miss Anguilla competition, she also received the Best Interview and Best Evening Wear Presentation awards, according to reports after the national pageant.

Carty has now gained both the titles, Miss Anguilla and Miss Caribbean Beauty and Intelligence in 2026. Her win has brought another major pageant achievement to Anguilla as Carty emerged as the top contestant among the seven contestants competing in Georgetown.
